MY SURGERY IS MON OCT 2 ITS MY REAL B-DAY

Hi, I was invited to the Illinois forum, so here I am! Just wanted to tell everyone thank you for all that you do for me...it means alot! Got a question.... is anyone on a pre-op liquid diet? This is my 7th day and I am dying! The weight has stopped coming off and I am worried that I wont make my 10 lb weight loss before surgery...anyone done a enema b4?

Hi Jennifer ... congrats on your surgery date! Different docs have different "rules" for pre-op and even post-op eating. Best to follow what your doc orders, but I know I wasn't required to do the 7 day liquid diet, nor a bowel prep, but I know many have. Did your surgeon say he'd cancel the surgery if you didn't make your 10 lb weight loss? I haven't heard of many who would actually do that, but on occasion I'm sure it does happen. Hi Jennifer - I was on a 10 day liquid diet. Day before surgery was bowel prep day. I was not required to lose any certain amount of weight before surgery. Hang in there.. You will be fine and just think.... you have a new journey getting ready to begin. Stay focused on how well your going to feel in a few weeks. It will all be worth it. Best of luck w/ your surgery.
