? Weight loss
10 days post lap RNY, I actually gained wt in the hospital (6 lbs), I have lost that, but the scale isn't moving any farther. I am doing everything I should be doing as far as my diet and exercise. Anyone else start out slow like this? I also want to know if anyone has found a good strawberry flavored protein supplement. Thanks Julie
Julie Julie Julie!!! Relax a little girl ... your body has been through a LOT ... and you've taken away something its used to (food, a lot most likely), so its a bit confused, and wants to hang on to what its got. Keep doing the right thing and it WILL come off. One of my docs told me (the day after my surgery) ... sit back and enjoy the ride. Granted, it doesn't mean there isn't work involved, cause there is, and as ANYONE here will tell you, this is NOT the easy way out. BUT, the first year (the "honeymoon" period), weight will come off (if you do the right things) ... stay off the scale everyday, cause waterweight can add or take off 5 pounds (or more) in a single day!
I know a lot of times we're just waiting to fail (after all, haven't we all "been there, done that, bought the t-shirt" before?) ... just waiting for that other shoe to drop ... but try to relax a little, know you're doing the right things, journal your food and exercise, and it will happen ... with a little patience! If you need us, we're here for you ... but hang in there.
I actually dumped on a strawberry protein drink early out ... but you might like some of the DaVinci syrups (I believe the website is davincigourmet.com) ... they might have a sugar-free strawberry syrup that you can add to a vanilla protein shake, otherwise, I haven't really come across a great strawberry one (however, I do like the Pure Protein banana one).
You'll do fine Julie ... hang in there!!
