REVISION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO HOSPITAL

I would like to here from anyone that have used the doctor at the university of chicago hosp. I'm looking into having a revision from a RNY to DS.

Hello, my name is Tarla and I am a patient of Dr. Vivek Pranchard. I have had nothing but good things to happen to me during this procedure. I had the DS in Dec of 05 I am now 8 month out and feel really good. The DS you get more weight loss from it, is there any reson you did not go with that surgery first?? When are you scheduled to go for the DS?? Anything I can help with just ask. Tarla

Thank you so much tarla for answering. I had lap done in nov 2000 and weight lost stopped 6 months into the surgery. Since then I have taken diet pill to lose and keep off 10 lbs only. I started at 300 lbs and I'm 232 lbs . I'm in the beginning stages of everything testing ,and looking for a good doctor. I live in georgia. I really want to go to california for this procedure but looking at the total price I need to look in chicago area due to insurance and cost. I will keep you posted.

I had Lap-DS with Dr. Alvery 6/1/06. The University of Chicago is an awesome hospital and both Dr. Prachand and Alverdy are great. They take all of the needed steps to ensure success and safety. If you have any questions feel free to email me Blessings, Lena

I had Dr. Prachand and had surgery on 6/23. He is a wonderful man and wonderful doctor! I was shocked that after my consult my mom called and told me to turn on Discovery Health channel. I did and there he was performing a DS! I was very impressed! Good luck to you!
