My first post....WLS and Crohn's

Hi. This is my first post on this site. :-) I had my initial meeting with Dr. Guske at New Self Bariatrics. I got my approval letter from United Health Care. Now I'm waiting for all the doctor appointments to be scheduled. Oh, did I mention that I also have Crohn's disease??? I guess I'm in the minority to have Crohn's and weigh a whopping 362 pounds. Hence....I'm having this surgery. My GP is for it, my GI is for it...my husband is totally behind me. Sorry...I'm rambling on now. :-p I'm not sure what I'm totally feeling just yet...I'm excited, happy, scared, nervous......all kinds of stuff. My main thing is that I want to be able to play with my kids. I have a 4 year old boy and a 2 year old girl. Anyways.....let's just end my first post here before I go on all night. So hello everyone...I'm sure you'll hear a lot from me.

I have a mild case of Chrons and just had my surgery last week! Doing great so far - although I did have a bit of a flare up last night I see my doc today, so hopefully we can get a handle on it and get me back on track. Good luck!!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I saw my GP today and he was thrilled that I was approved. Now I'm just waiting for all the apointments to be made. If I don't hear something by tomorrow morning, I'm going to call the office and see what my status is. Everyone that knows about the surgery keeps asking me if it has been scheduled yet, and I have to keep giving them the same answer. I feel like a broken record already. I'll keep ya'll posted.

Good luck to you. You will like the group of doctors that you are going through. My husband had Rantis in 2003 for his WLS. The Kanes saved my life in '91 with an unrelated WLS issue. In my opinion they sort of walk on water. Chris
