July 19th...the day that will forever change my life!

SO, I've put this in replies to certain topics, but hadn't done one of my own. And I just have to share. After 2+ years of fighting insurance, I am now a self-pay patient. My (lap-band) surgery is scheduled for July 19th! I had my pre-op appointment this past Monday, and today I went to the pulminologist to get cleared for surgery. I've been trying out meal replacements, since I will be on a pre-op diet starting Wednesday. But since this past Monday at my pre-op, I've lost 3 lbs. I couldn't believe it. I can't even imagine how much I'll loose during the official 3 week pre-op diet! Anyway, I just wanted to share my good news. It's so encouraging coming here, seeing where people are at, where they've been and where they're going. Plus, some great info! What a great resource! I am still kind of sad about my insurance situation, but I'm just so thankful I took my health into my own hands. And I'm thankful that, on July 19th, life will forever change for me!
