Start in my journey...

I had my first consultation yesterday. So I begin the journey. I am now waiting for my approval. Please pray for me...lol... So now I am Playing the waiting game so..

Hi Jamilla, I am encouraged to see that someone else is starting this process, too. Many sites are for people who have already had the surgery. I have been slowly moving toward this decision and doing the pre-op work required. I was diaganoised with and I am being treated for Sleep Apnea...I can't imagine sleeping in the "Darth Vader" mask for the rest of my life! It is really cramping my love life, but then again, so was my thunderous snoring which stops with the mask. At least I am getting real sleep. Any way,let's keep in touch. As I am getting near the finish of my pre-op appointments, but I am getting scared. I also have HBP. My insurance will cover the surgery, I am feeling good about my medical team and facility, but my family and husband are against it, which why I have been dragging this out since January 2006. I decided today that I need to connect with others outside of my inner circle. I wish you the best! --Mo

No problem Mo, its a hard desicion to make in the first place and even harder when your family is not so supported. my family is. Well my mom has her doubts and doesn't want me to do it but i have to do something, or I will die. I just hope i get approved. And can't wait. I dont really have any major issues besides my weight. I dont have high blood pressure, diabetes, or sleep apnea yet. that's why im doing this, it runs in my family and i would be the one to get all those dieases. I have to stop it before it starts.
