I just got home yesterday from my surgery. We also had to do another hernia repair. I was only in the hospital 23 hours, and actually today, I have only taken 1 pain pill. I am still a bit tired, but surprisingly I have been up walking and moving quite a bit. Dr said she took off 8 pounds of abdominal skin/fat. She said I wont tell it on the scale till the swelling goes down, but she says all went well. I will get one drain out next Wednesday, and the other out the following Monday. I can't wait to see my results. I am so happy I was finally able to get this done. I had such a wonderful Dr. Her name was Dr Anne Cramer and her husband Dr John Searles assisted her. The whole thing only took 3 1/2 hours, not too bad or all the work I had done.

Connie, congrats on your PS. I just went through a BL also on May 13th. In addition to that I had lipo and a medial thigh lift done at the same time. My BL so far looks fantastic. The thighs are getting better with each day. I am black and blue from the calves to just below the butt cheeks. Even my butt cheeks are swollen, LOL The swelling is going down almost every day. I kind of thought that my compression garment was going to be uncomfortable to wear even with the warmer weather but it has not been too bad yet. Yes, the weight loss will eventually show up on the scale. With this last PS I gained 17# because they pump so much fluids into you when you are having lipo. I lost that by about Wednesday of the following week. I have had to keep taking the pain meds because the thighs really hurt. I would be woken up in the middle of the night when I needed more. Tho, I have been able to switch to Extra Strength Tylenol yesterday during the day so that is a step in the right direction. I only take the prescription for sleeping at night. Do not over due it and listen to your body when you need to take a nap. Good Luck. Chris

It is so nice to hear from someone who has been through similar experiences. I did overdo a bit yesterday, and I was wore out because of it. But I just rested the rest of the night. I did have to take pain pills at bed time and in the middle of the night last night. I am trying to sleep in the bed for part of the night (the recliner on the couch just wasn't cutting it). I know Dr said she was doing some lipo on sides (under arms) near my breasts, but so far I don't feel hardly any discomfort in my breast area. I just wish any swelling I have there WONT go away, nice to see them perky again (haha). As for the tummy, haven't looked at it too much yet, I do see some swelling near where the drainage tubes are (and OH are these areas tender if I move a certain way, they sting so bad). I will be excited to see the results later. I did take before pictures, and before measurements, so it will be fun to see the difference when I am done healing. Thanks again for your response, this is why I just love this website is people like you who help people like me get through this. God Bless

Connie, sorry I was going to respond yesterday evening but I was too tired at the end of my day. We had a house party yesterday with the group that my husband serves with at our Saturday evening service at church. They had a big social gathering at this guy's house, man what a house. Some of these houses in the NW suburbs just make you drool when you see them. I hate coming home to my 1100 sq ft house afterwards. And to top that off he does as a "hobby" grows close to 500 different Hosta plants for mail order! I did not do much at the party I was just plan tired; the week caught up with me. Then later when I was getting ready for bed at 8pm, I know early but I was dog tired I started bleeding from one of my thigh incisions pretty bad. I know what caused it. It is so hard to sit on the potty and I must have twisted the wrong way during the paperwork process. For the most part I stand up to pee with a ladies urinal. I know TMI. LOL Yeah, as far as the breasts. I have not had much to any discomfort from them either. Only when I lay down on my back to watch tv before I fall asleep, under the right one it pulls and tugs and hurts like the dickens. As long as I hug a pillow and sleep on my right or left side does it not hurt. Mine were drooping down almost to my waist, they were gross. For the most part my swelling has just about gone I think and if they stay the way they are right now I will be so very, very happy. And yes mine are also really perky. I love them. I will find out more tomorrow when I go in for my next appointment. Now the drainage tubes. Man I hated them. I had a belt lipectomy last August and had 2 in me. They sting because they are sewn in with a couple of stitches so they stay there. Yes, you will be amazed with your measurements. Do not put too much into what the scale says so far because of all the IV fluids they pump into you during surgery. Your body will also respond with fluid retention from the healing of the incisions. It will take several months. I gained 17# just from this surgery; most of which I have lost already plus somemore already. I am really curious how much fat he liposuctioned out of my thighs. I am horribly bruised from it. I know there wasn't too much skin taken off. The whole process is amazing. Well, got to get my day going here. My husband and I are going to the Wis Dells for a few days as long as I still am off of wor****il after Memorial Day. We are going to go up there before it gets crazy for the holiday week end. Chris ps, I took picutres also and am taking after photos of the bruises, amazing.

I am 8 days out today and I am feeling real good. I did a little too much yesterday, but slept like 10 hours last night, so this morning I feel pretty darn good. But I am going to try to still slow down a bit today. I take little walks throughout the day, try to do a little bit around the house, will like it so much better after Tuesday when the other tube comes out, but I scheduled a pedicure after my Dr appointment to make me feel better. I bought a new short outfit yesterday, a skort (or whatever they call them now) and sporty top to go with it, and put it on today, in a Medium, and I don't feel uncomfortable in it. I know I still have quite a bit of swelling, since I am only 8 days out, but it is the first time I have worn anything that is close fitting, since forever! I put on one of my bras I had before surgery, and it fits perfectly. I can't wait to go buy a nice matching bra and panty set from Victoria's Secret, that I can actually feel sexy in. Good luck to you, and please let me know how you are doing after surgery. Connie
