I can't get any information until Monday when the offices are open but if anyone has any information I would appreiciate it. Thanks

Richard if I were you I would call my surgeon and get your surgery date changed explain to him what is going on and what insurance you will be having. There are MANY MANY MANY on here that have fought and lost b/c b/s.. even ones who HAVE it in their coverage!!! You will jump through hoops and more than likely not succeed.. Good luck Debby Check out Patty's profile.. they have literally put her through the ringer!! http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/profile.php?N=G1119550939

Yeah, you will have to find out if your employer has it as a covered benefit. You may have to go through the approval process all over again. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but usually an approval from when carrier to another one does not carry over. I understand that BCBS of IL is a duffy to get approved with now. I have them but have a very generous policy with my employer, it is a PPO. But my DH and I were both approved a couple of years before they were starting to make everyone go through the supervised diet try BS. If by some slim chance that your approval is going to carry over from one carrier to the other make sure that you get your approval in WRITING. And also give your doctor's office a heads up as to what is going on with your insurance. This is very important because you do not want to be on the table and find out that you are going to have to pay out of pocket until the insurance BS is straightened out. Or even worse that the doctor will not even touch you because of the insurance problems.
