Are there any doctors in the Boise area that do the Lap Band, not RNY? How much is it out of pocket expense? Thanks.

Judy, I had my RNY-lap surgery 2 1/2 yrs ago in Cal. When we moved up to Idaho, I wanted to find a WLS doc right away just in case. I looked for some time and finally decided on Dr. Valentine in Nampa. I was very impressed with Dr. Valentine after my appt. He wanted as much info as I could give him about my past and the surgery itself. He does do LAP. which I am very happy with. My 5 tiny scares are all but gone. I hope you are able to have the surgery you want and fine the DR. that's right for you. Sally Moore 240/133/148

For those that do not know our brother in WLS - Bill Walker ( WillBThin ) has had a set back from complications from his RNY last week . Will has developed a Septic Infection. He is in Critical Condition at St. Mary's Hospital here in Richmond VA . His wife Stephanie is by his side . He is currently on life support and a kidney machine . His fever is being controlled with antibiotics and a cooling blanket . If you would like to send cards to Will and Stephanie ,I ask that you send them to me . I am putting together a basket of things for them and will include all of your cards . I am so thankful for those that have reached out and prayed for all concerned . The idaho site doesn't have alot of action on it but we're out there! Yep, we are out there doing all kinds of things. Go to the "Our Members" Peer Directiory and click on Idaho. Check out the following profiles: Justine A Amy Burr Linda B (that's me) Shelly Poole Anita-Nell Swanson These are just a few but they all go to the support group meetings. Anita-Nell is our inspiration. Shelly and I had our operations near each other. We have been walking alot together. We can now walk/jog quite a ways. We are now walking about 8.5-9 miles round trip up to Table Rock and back and on Saturdays, we've been walking two sets of 6 miles each. We are going to increase that to two sets of 7 miles this Saturday. Often times during the week Justine, Shelly and I will walk 5-6 miles. Feel free to email me anytime. Linda

I am looking over this forum and see that very few posts get replies. I am wondering if it's because those who have had the surgery are out there LIVING and LOVING their lives and no longer have time!!!! Could it be?? I hope that's the reason! Bless you all Judy
