Well, my BMI is 40.4 but have really crappy insurance with Regence Blue Shield. They have just laughed at me when I mention anything to do with Obesity. I have been looking into the surgery for 2 years. I have no problem with doing it---get me in there and cut me and do their thing. I don't have any quelms about it. But---It is all about the money. I am divorced and on my own and pay a fortune for Health insurance. But it is not doing me any good in this case, so my real balttle is not being accepted medically but finding the money.

Hi , Kelli. I am in Boise and I had to self pay so I went to Mexico and they have done over 2500 Lap-Bands and the Hospital was fabulous, the cost was something I could afford on self pay 8,900 for everything except air fare. If this any help to you.

Hi, I know how you feel. As a self pay I had to find a great doctor in Mexico and the total bill was 9,000 much better than the 26,000 and I could save and get to this faster. My surgery was October 4 and I am all healed and looking for my support group. It is best to do what your doctor advises.

I weigh 204 today
looking forward to 150
At 230 I was the lowest border line BMI 35

My name is Linda, I had surgery in Mexico last October on the 4th. My BMI was 35 when I got qualified and 32.5 at surgery and I have lost only 14 pounds since surgery. I just wonder if I need a fill, or when You get down to the lower BMI is it hard to lose. Can anyone tell me just what a meal looks like for them. I pretty much can eat anything I like. I plan on getting my first fill in January.
I just thought if there was ladies in this area looking for a support group, I am here, where are you?

I do not know if I am doing anything right and don't seem to be losing much. I would like a support group that we can talk about our problems.

I have lost 14 pounds so far, but my BMI was only 32 I started at 230 but by the time I had the surgery I weighed 218 and today I weigh 204.
I am looking for a support group with people in my same boat. Are we in the same situtation?

If you are looking for a support group or just wanting more information on WLS we are starting a group. First meeting is Jan 9 th 2007 at the Heyburn Police Department at 6:30 PM.
