Topic: RE: Wanting Lap Band
The only meeting I went to was in June or July of 2005. I had my surgery Oct of 2005 and have lost 87 lbs to date. I just recently went down to a size 12 pants. I plan to be in a size 10 by Christmas. Yes, the LB is slow, but it just keeps going as long as you want to. Once you get to where you want, you just don't get any more fills - unless you start getting hungry all the time again. Congrats on your insurance paying!!! It's the best news ever, eh?

Hi Nancy, Did you go to the seminar on Monday, February 12? You look familiar. I went to the seminar, I found out my insurance will cover, I am so excited, I have made all my appointments for sleep test, dietician and pyschology, I can't beleive it, i am in shock. I am afraid they'll change there minds, I was just noticing how much you have lost. That is a lot of weight for the LB, I thought the weight loss was slower and less, that is super to see, I want to lose more than 100 so I am hoping I can with the LB. any suggestions, helpful hints for me to prepare myself for this change in my life? I just can't wait now!! Thanks.

http://www.eirmc.com/ that is the web site but you might have to google Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. I paid 11250.00 for everything. I have a cousin who went to Mexico at the same time and now she has to go back there for fills and doctor visits or she has to find someone here that will do fills for her. There are a few but she found them rather high priced, but I am not sure on all of that. All I know for sure is that when I go to the office I see a lady about nutrion a guy about excerise and then talk to the main nurse over the program. I hope this helped with your finding information about both. Good luck and I am so happy I did it. Even though there are good days and bad the good seem to out number the bad ones.

Thanks for the information. Do you have the name of the web site for the New U place you went to? The price for everything, all testing and motels is about $8000.00 in Mexico. If you dont' mind me asking, what is the price for the New U? Thanks Juli.

There are a few people that have had it done there that I know and so far they all say good things. I had it done in Idaho Falls at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from what I understand I paid about two thousand dollars more and never had to go out of the country and it was same day surgery I was home that night. The hospital has a program called NewU and it is fantastic. You can read about it on the web site for the hospital. I hope this helped. Have a great day.
