Topic: RE: 3 days post surgery, doing great .... but
Hi,      I haven't had my weight loss surgery yet but I have a friend that had a RNY a few weeks ago and she can drink things without a problem.  But I know another gal and it hurts her stomach if she has too big of a drink. She has to watch how much she is trying to swollow per time.        I've heard that people can have a bit of a gain early on, after any surgery or hospital stay.  The IV liquids temperarely puts some water weight on.  It eventually goes away.          But your doc should be consulted.  So, I hope that you contact your doc and find out what can be going on with you and what to do about it.           Good luck with everything.  marie

Check out my profile for pictures of MARINER OF THE SEAS from a cruise I did with my family in 12/04, and from just two weeks ago when I did an inspection tour for this year's CRUISE TO LOSE!  Make sure you check out the pictures of the Royal Promenade, ROCK CLIMBING WALL(!!!!), 18-Hole Mini Golf Course, ICE SKATING RINK (again, !!!!!!) among other points of interest!  The Royal Promenade has café’s and bistro’s, and Promenade Cabins overlooking the “main street” – these areas are actually “Inside cabins” retrofitted with a picture window overlooking the promenade!  NO OTHER CRUISE LINE offers such a great, inexpensive alternative to what would otherwise be an “Inside”!!  Each day there are various activities here, including parades, parties (70’s and 80’s parties, Mardi Gras, etc.), and while at sea, the shops along the mall are open for business!

Go to www.rubycruises.com to PRE-REGISTER – upper right hand corner.  If you have any questions, you may PM me here, email me at [email protected], or call me TOLL FREE at 866-685-RUBY (7829).

I haven't had the surgery yet but based on my research you shouldn't be consuming so much. Have you had a fill yet? Just our of curiosity, how long did it take for you insurance to approve the Lap-Band with Dr. Anderson? Nancy

I'm confused.  Everybody says you have to sip, sip, sip after the surgery.  I did that for the first 250ml after my dye test.  But really, I don't seem to be having any trouble downing  3-16 oz. protein shakes/day, no trouble downing 62 oz. of water.  No trouble drinking a cup or two of chicken broth. What gives?  I thought this band thing would make it so I could only take in a little at a time. PLUS - I'm one week from my last weigh in and I weigh 7 pounds MORE.  Did the band not work??? Did I go through this for nothing - when I was losing 2 pounds a week before the surgery???
