Topic: RE: Any Boise, ID Dr Christian Oakley DS patients out there?
My brother had the Ds thru Dr. OsKley 4 years ago buthe was very very heavy I beleive almost 600 pounds, I had a lap Rny on Oct 23 my Bmi was 63 and now it is 42 and He had me get my BMI UNDER 60 because that is his standards for Lap RNY, I went from a 63 to a 57 before surgery, Hope this helps, And yes he did NOT think the DS was for me he thought RNY was better, I went in there with my mind made up that DS was what I was going to get and after I left there I had changed it with his advice, Hope this helps Kristy

Dr. Oakley takes Medicaid, and he does the Lap RNY.
And you don't have to do the 6 month diet history, if your on Medicaid.
That is what they told my friend on Weds.
I go in Monday for my RNY.
Topic: Seminar and Support Group
I setup a date for a seminar and support group through Dr. Korn in Boise Idaho. Even though Idaho Falls is closer to me they really arnt giving me any viable information and they have been pretty rude to me. Dr Korn right now seems like my best bet so cross your fingers, I think I might actually be getting somewhere I guess I will have to wait and see. Im just afraid because he is so far. But luckily the seminar and support group are back to back so that makes it easier on me.. Wish me luck I need it.

Dr. Oakley did my Lap RNY, my bmi was 59 down from 64, even with a BMI as high as mine he said i was still a better candidate for RNY. He only does LAP RNY with BMI under 60, if the website says over 60 then its probably right. he is kinda strict. Has your brother considered RNY?

Any Boise, ID Dr Oakley DS patients out here? My brother has a 40 BMI and the website says they do over 60 BMIs. What was your BMI at the time Dr Oakley did your DS surgery and what date did you have your DS, please. Thanks.

Topic: RE: The worst night of my life ever!
Sorry you had such a rough time with it. I've been through 3 sleep studies and been good with all of them. I have had sleep apnea for over 10 years now so I'm an old timer. I just didn't want you to think that all sleep studies are the same. But hopefully you'll learn if you have any hidden problems and get them taken care of. If you have apnea, wear your CPAP and don't do like Christeen my wife did and just stop wearing it. Her pulmonologist and I finally convinced her to start wearing it again. Feel better!

You are looking well and I can relate to the "pants falling off" lol. Tell your husband that you need your old pants to give you insentive to keep going. WTG!
