I have a friend who lives near boise who is looking into having the rny done.  I had mine done in florida 4 years ago.  Can anyone tell me who would be a good doctor?  I want to get her to the best surgeon.  I looked at Dr. Oakley, and Dr. Korn.  Is there anyone else I should look at?  Who do you think is better?  I don't think I care about bed side manner, I just want the best surgeon.  Like, who has the less casualities, etc....  I had alot of complications after my surgery, and I don't want it to happen to her.

Hello!
I'm a patient of Dr. Pennings. I'm about 10 months out & down 126 lbs. Dr. Pennings is very knowledgeble and respectful. I ,too was going to do the lap band & changed my mind & had the RNY.

I feel your pain with the Optifast. I was on it 6 weeks before surgery. At times I wanted to scream! But, it works & is necessary to have the surgery. Keep your eyes on the goal & it will be easier.

In no time you will find the new you and what a wonderful feeling that is!

Blessings!

Hi I am a almost 39 year old female from the outskirts of Spokane. I am having Rny through Dr Pennings of Post falls Idaho. Has anyone here gone to him? He seems to be a well informed Dr who took the time to answer my questions. At first I was having the lap band but after talking to him and my mom I am doing the RNY. My weight at the seminar was 342. At the time of my consult I was at 329.

I knew I have a fatty liver so right after the seminar I started to lose weight thinking “If I get a jump on this I can get my surgery done faster” No such luck! I had my first consultation and was told second week of September. I also needed to lose 30 more lbs. So he now has me on Optifast until surgery. As of today I am at 317. Did any one else have to do Optifast as long as me? I am just very impatient. Wanted to get this done before the kids go back to school. They go back the last week of August. I just wanted to check in and say hi.
