Topic: Insurance nightmare
I am at the very beginning of this long process to get healthy. I have been making inquires to my employeer about insurance coverage and to the insurance company about coverage. I have asked very general questions. Lucky me, my insurance does not cover the lap band procedure or any bariatric procedures period.... I am now looking into purchasing insurance that will cover the procedure. I will keep everyone posted as I dig my way through the insurance battle.

6-12-03 Hello all, I am 31 years old and been overweight most of my life. I have my fisrt consult on June 25th with Dr. Oakley in Boise, ID. I am excitied and scared LOL. Congradulations Heather,
I had (open) Mini gastric bypass on the 24th of last month. You are probably already feeling as well as I do now. (HAHA). This has been some experience. I went to the Tri cities to Dr Heap to have my surgery done. Who did yours? I am local in Rathdrum if you need to email feel free. Best of everything to you. You'll do great I'm sure.

Im going with Dr. Oakley also. Have you went to one of his support groups yet? I went earlier this month, found it very interesting. I have been thinking of doing this the past 2 to 3 years just now really getting up the nerve to do it. Good Luck!!
