Topic: Doc's Apt less then 24 hours away!!
Hi Everyone!
My Doc's Apt is less the 24 hours away, I have seen Dr Ediger before but have Medicad, and they were not going to Pay, it has taken 2 years foe medicare to kick in and there is no pre-approvel they do the sugery then submit to medicare, and if you have a BMI of I think 40+ and have any co-Problems and they will cover so when I spoke to the office last week, and they said after they see no problem and will set up pre-op testing after my apt tomarrow...So im keeping my fingers and toes crossed That Sugery will be soon.
Would love to hear from anyone with thought of whats going to happen in the next few weeks, Oh by the way, I'm a 41 year old female, and I tip the scale at 350lbs.

Topic: Please Help Me- Las Vegas
Hello all
My name is Paige Reiff, and I have been trying to get the surgery for the last 2 years. Finally my insurance company said they will pay 50%, which is wonderful, but I need to come up with the rest.
I have 2 sisters who have had this surgery ( in California ) as a matter of fact one of them had a body lift as well. They have both done so well. I am thrilled for them. I want this surgery more then anything, I want to finally feel healthy, and get the respect and opportunity I deserve. I am 35 years old, I have been heavy my whole life. I take care of my parents, my dad just turned 75 yesterday, and my mother is 65. My father had a stroke in April, so my days can be trying, and my mother is very heavy as well, she can hardly walk.
I need help rasing the money. Can all of us band together and help each other, we need to create a database of people who need financial help, and if everyone donates $1.00, $5.00, or what ever they can..we can all get a second chance at life..
Please let me know if you can help me.. I need all the donations I can get.
Thank you so much for listening

I have created a new place online for weight loss surgery support. I am going to have this surgery in 2004. So I wanted to start this group for us. It is free and I hope you visit. The web site is:

Topic: Emoticons instructions from ObesityHelp.com
How to use emoticons in your posts:
When you are posting a new message, notice the blue box called "message emoticons". Click on the down-arrow in that box. You will see a drop-down box with characters on the left and the resulting images on the right. Type the characters on the left into your message. When this message is posted the characters will be replaced by the corresponding image. So, for example, for an angel graphic () you would type "".
We are taking steps now to make this an easier process... so look for enhancements soon.

Topic: A new look and new features
Howdee people! Now you can post graphics to your posts :-) Here are some examples below:
  :nono:   :smokin: :sniff: :jump: :grad: :chair: :afro:   :zap:
You may have noticed these state forums gaining more and more features since they were launched a few months ago. Today we're putting a new round of improvements into effect. Please feel free to help us test these out.
If you find any problems, just click on the "Technical Problems" hyperlink below. Also, please feel free to go through the list of hyperlinks along the left side of this forum and click on each thing there. Recently members have been suggesting that we build things that we already built and put there! :'( :-@ :sniff: Note, there are TWO places to add graphics. First, to the post title. You can insert just one per title. You do that by clicking on an icon to the right of the posting page. Second, you can insert as many icons as you wish into the body of your message, BUT TO DO THIS (FOR NOW AT LEAST) YOU HAVE TO ACTUALLY TYPE OUT THE SYMBOL CODE. We can be upgrading to a click-insert system on that later. What do you think about these features?
We'll be changing the main site board to incorporate them soon, but have been using these state boards as a type of testing ground. Anyway, please tell us what you think. We're dedicated to better serving our members. If you have suggestions you'd like me to personally see, please click on my name, go to my profile, and click on the "Email me" hyperlink. Also, if you have icons that you would recommend be added to our collection, please email them to [email protected] along with information stating how you didn't violate any copywrite issues to get them. Working together, we're really rocketing towards more and more amazing achievements. Let's give ourselves a big round of applause. Thanks!
Topic: Still in Need
Just want to say thanks to everyone who has helped my friend Jim Shaver. We still have a long way to go raising money for his surgery.
Please if you haven't done so, visit his website and read his story.
www.helpsaveavoice.com
Surgery is scheduled for October 22 in Charleston, WV. He must have all the money by October 21. If everyone would just give 5.00...we would meet the goal in no time at all.
God bless you and thanks for everything...continue to pray.

Topic: RE: Please pray for my friend...
Hi Amy -
I have UHC and they approved on the first letter after only 2 wks or so. I am curious why they would deny him. I have gone to www.helpsaveavoice.com and read that. I don't have sleep apnea or any other major problem except obesity and insulin resistance. Maybe he should try for the lap-band although if they denied the roux en y, I doubt that would matter.
Keep trying - there is an attorney in CA that I believe takes cases pro bono because he was denied and had to fight the insurance companies to get them to do it. It's his personal mission to get the ins. co to grant approval. I will get his name and give it to you if you want it.
In the meantime - good luck to you and Jim. I'll keep you in my thoughts.
