Topic: RE: Hey, Dr. Oakley's patients
I had the RNY with Dr. Oakley Jan 4th, 2010. His office is great. He works with a really great Physician Assistant Annie Campbell.
There are 2 nutritionist that Dr. Oakley's office works with. Jen & Judy. I prefer Jen, but Judy is helpfull too. The like Fusion for vitamins and BA calcium chews.
He didn't tell me much about his views on diets. He told me that I had no restrictions, but to be smart and remember what the NUT's had to say.
Good Luck!

Topic: Hey, Dr. Oakley's patients
I'm scheduled for an RNY with Dr. Oakley on April 27th. On Wednesday the 21st I go in for my pre-op appointment, pre op at the hospital, meeting with nutritionist, and a group meeting of some sort. Until then, I'd like to get an idea of Dr. Oakley's post-op diet and his position on supplements. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks!

Topic: Moscow/Pullman/Troy - new support group
Palouse Bariatric Support
Regardless of your surgery type or your desire to have surgery, I believe we all have something in which we can learn and share with others. We are a close knit group of locals who live on the Palouse and meet on the First Tuesday of Every month at 6:30 PM at One World Cup on Main Street in Moscow, Idaho. This is a very informal group.
Please join us to share your experience or begin your research by learning from patients who have walked the walk.

Topic: RE: I have a question about hair loss...
Protien first, Bariatric Vitamins and Calcium regligiously!
Isopure liquid from the Vitamine Shoppe in Boise is a great way to get your protien in..
Once you get a good protien balance the hair loss should decrease.
You might want to consider getting a short sassy doo, just for the summer while your body adjusts.
Hang in there! you can do this:o)

hi everyone! I just had surgery on feb 15 2010 and i would really enjoy talking and exchanging experiences with people.

Thanks for the help. My mom and I really appreciate it. May god bless you greatly today and always.

Yes, usually you may experience hair loss between 4 to 5 months post op. Make sure you are getting your daily amount of recommended protein intake to avoid severe hair loss. Lack of protein intake in gastric bypass patients can cause hair loss. After about 9 to 10 months post op, the hair loss usually subsides. All the best in your WLS journey.
