Topic: Hello to everyone in my f...
Hello to everyone in my family at OH!, My name is Teresa White, I mostly post on the mainboard but love all of you where ever you are in this Universe! First I would like to invite ya'll to join us in our What did YA'LL eat today discussion on the main board. I usually post anywhere between 7:30 and 9:00pm WV time and you can answer as late as you wish. I am the host of the thread, we talk a little about our day, our food and water intake and our exersize. We have a good time there and I don't like flaming on my thread. We are here to give and get support! And have a little fun along the way. I try to answer as many posts as possible, sometimes I dont get as far as I would like being a full time nurse, student and mom! I invite you to please visit my profile and share in my spectacular ride on my journey to WLS success. Anyone who has already been to my profile has already seen my love and admiration for Dolly Parton who I dream of meeting someday. While you are at my profile please click the Help me Meet Dolly link and sign my petition to Oprah to help me meet Dolly. It would mean more to me than mere words could express. My petition was designed and created by none other than our Birthday patrol founder and my friend Melissa Mermaid. Thanks M! Have a beautiful journey!! There are two in the Treasure Valley (greater Boise area) who do lap RNY that I know of. Dr Jim Valentine in Nampa (about 8 miles from Star) and Dr Christian Oakley in Boise (about 8 miles from Star). My surgeon was Dr. Valentine, so I am biased in that direction, but have heard good things about Dr Oakley. Good luck.

Wendy Hang in there. There are a lot of things you will go through in the next couple weeks and months. Dr V's staff are great and the nutritionist Karen is wonderful. Contact them if you have questions. Patience is the key. When you are having a hard time or feel like you are not losing (it will come- plateaus are inevitable) just say- 1 year and keep looking forward to the future.

I made it through the 1st week. I sure got tired of the liquids. The pudding tasted great this morning. Haven't had any trouble all week. A bit of pain where the hernia was repaired. Up and walking twice a day. Been easier than I thought. I now that the worst may be to come. I haven't gotten on a scale yet. Post-op on friday will post again then.

I can hardly wait to welcome all you ladies to Idaho. Julie we are very close in distance truly. When I get back or after my knee surgery we'll have to get together. Sally, on our way to the mountains we drive through Star and today I noticed the Celestial subdivision ... we're close too. Then with Angie moving to Nampa also we really must have a get together. Julie, my doctor said he'd do a duodenal switch on me, if I ever get it approved. You say your procedure was similar to it? How do you feel you've done? Well, tomorrow Monday is an appointment concerning my knee surgery .. have to learn the exercises etc for afterwards. Then on Tuesday I'm headed back up to the mountains and I'll stay by myself until late Friday night when my dh will join me for the weekend. Then I'll have to return and get my home ready to deal with a walker. My goodness, that'll be a full weeks work plus some. LOL Wishing all you ladies well. Dianna [email protected]

I just had RNY 05/31/05. Dr Valentine in Nampa performed my surgery and I am very pleased with him. his whole staff is great. They also have a great support group. There is also a teacher in our group who is having surgery June 14th, what a coincidence (sp). I hope we can meet you. I go to the group that meets the 3rd thursday of the month at North Mercy Medical center off the Garrity Rd exit. at 7 pm. I hope this helps, if you need any further info please feel free to contact me personally.

Hi Dianna! You sent me a lovely email last year when I moved from Portland to Nampa, and I'm ashamed to admit that I never followed up on your invitation to meet up when I got settled! Now almost a year later I popped in to say hello and see whose about and here I find you! I celebrated my three year WLS anniversary this week, my procedure was the biliopancreatic diverson (also known as the Scopinaro BPD), an old surgery that is rarely performed any longer (most surgeons are now doing the Duodenal Switch instead). Anywho, seeing these exchanges reminds me of how much I'd really like to be in touch with some other WLS minded folks.. both pre and post op! I'm not shy about sharing my story and I was very active as an 'angel' and group speaker in Portland. We're also close as far as living arrangements.. I'm in the Crestwood development, just past Middleton off of Karcher! I hope you have a lovely time camping, and I wish you the best with your knee replacement. I hope to hear from you when you get the time and inclination! ~Peace Julie Lap BPD no DS 6/3/02 394/293/???
