Ok, I received my referrel from Triwest to see a Dr. Korn. Info I could find on him and even talking with the staff, I did not have a warm fuzzy feeling if you know what I mean. I knew Dr. Valentine had taken Tricare Prime, which my family is under , on several patients he performed WLS on, and wanted to go to him. On my letter, it says, "you can choose another network provider for this service." and to review network providers in your area, go to the website, yadda, yadda, yadda. I called and got an appointment with Dr. Valentine's office and they were soooo helpful and understanding and sent me my packet right away! But when I called Tricare to let them know I had changed providers, they looked and found that he wasn't a network provider for Tricare PRIME, only Tricare STANDARD!!! I called Dr. V's office right away and she said she would have to email them and find out what their status was and also if they could change it to Prime to allow me to see Dr. V. I'm so disappointed but feel hopeful it will get settled before my appointment on 16 January. Everyone, please say a little prayer for me and for the offices involved so that they may sort things out in a positive way for me!! Thanks to everyone in here. I feel the support each and everytime I go into the chat room or post on this message board. Sandy

Were you able to get thingsworked out? My PCSM told me that Dr. Oakley is the best in the area, but of course he does not accept Prime. I am looking now to have the Lap Band done. Becky

Hi Becky, I went ahead and kept my appointment with the doctor they referred me to and I really liked him. He was honest and forthright and my husband liked him also. Thanks! Sandy
