im still in considerable pain and have a huge bruise across my abdomen, im not sure what part of my body is causing the pain, if its the skin, the insides, the gas or what... im ready for the pain to go away now. i would also like to get up and around more, but its pretty painful. i hate the clear diet and i dont really care about eating anyway. i hope tomorrow proves to be less pain
Hello Stephaine,
I can relate to your pain. It seems like yesterday when I had my surgery. I am now 4 years out! You will have a bruise for a few weeks. The pain should go away in a couple of weeks. Luckily you did not have open adominel surgery like I did. It was worse for me. I kept screaming for a week after surgery to "Shoot me and put me out of my misery." I have had c-sections and several other surgerys. But none was as painful as my gastric by pass. I know that Dr. Valentine does the laperscope without the Distal. I had the full blown by pass surgery. I lost 165 pounds in 9 months! It was the hard way to do it but now I enjoy it. I did get down to 98 pounds. Dr. Ediger was in fear I was would die if I did not start my road to either maintance or gaining a bit. I am now at 125 pounds and have been this way for almost 3 years. Honey I never want to see that fat person again. I always felt that I was trapped in a fat person's body screaming to get out.
My mother is wanting to have this surgery. I know that under the disabilty act that if you are 100 pounds over weight with co-morbilties. Get this TRUE BLUE turned her down!!!!! I told her that I will not rest until they pay for her surgery. She wants Dr. Valentine to do her surgery. I know him, he lives about 2 miles from me. My daughter goes to school with his daughter. I read where your insurance company turned you down. What did you do get approved?
Remember one thing about after surgery. The more you are up and moving and even walking helps. The faster you will heal. If you do not care about eating then that is a good sign. Means it is working. I had to force myself to eat for 4 months after. I would go all day long without eating, then the end of the day my husband would ask what I ate. I said "oh yeah I forgot to eat." It was funny considering I was use to sitting down eating 2 plates of food all the time. I now have some eating issuses. But that is something I work out. I can only eat about 1/2 cup of food in one eating. I nibble all day long that seem to help some days. I live on Zofran and Protonix (because of the distal by pass).
If you ever want to talk feel free to email me and I will give you my phone number we can even talk that way. Email me at [email protected]
Good luck hon! I wish you much success!
