Recommend Surgeons please

I just found out that my secondary insurance will pay for gastric bypass so I need some recommendations for surgeons in the Boise/Nampa area. I know the names of three already, but I'd like to know who you had and why you like/disliked them please. Let's get some discussions going on this Idaho group please. Dianna

Hi Dianna, Happy to hear that your insurance will pay for gastric bypass. I had mine done August 6th of this year. I had Dr. Robert Korn. He is a very good doctor and took very good care of me. He only does open right now so if you wanted Lap I would contact Dr. Oakley. I hear he is also a very good doctor and people seem to like him. Best of luck on your journey, Sherry

Hello Dianna - I would recommend Dr. Oakley very highly. He is very personable and understanding. Not to mention an extremely skilled surgeon. He has done hundreds of weight loss surgeries over the last couple years. You should go to his support group meeting. You could talk to others that have had the surgery. Hi Dianna: I have had an consult with Dr. Valentine and LOVED him! He was very thorough and informative. He requires that you understand everything fully and an excellent pre and post op support system. He has been doing Lap RNY for 3 years exclusively but has been doing Bariatric surgery for over 10 yrs. His sucess rate is excellent and he has had only 1 patient that had complications. He has not lost any patients. I found him extremely easy to talk to and he was more than willing to answer any questions I had. I am planning to have surgery in Feb. Good luck in your search! Sheri
