Post-Op 3 Wks -25
I had my surgery 12/9/03, and just had my first post-op appt. with Dr. Oakley. I was down 25 lbs., so felt great about that. I'm still trying to figure out what foods I can and cannot eat. My mother-in-law brought over fresh rolls on Christmas. One bite and I found out that wasn't a good idea at all. After the pain left, I have been very careful not to repeat that stupidity. I drink the protein drink with juice and can eat applesauce, jello and soups. It was strange not eating the goodies that family and friends sent over for the holidays. My husband does a good job of eating those. It was also strange to go to a movie and not eat popcorn (one of my favorites). I do eat an occasional popsicle, but it
isn't exciting. I look forward to the months ahead and continue to look at before and after photos for support.
Hi Debbie:
I bet you are about snowed in down there like I am here.
I use the protien drink from GNC called whey protien vanilla flavored. I start each day out with my protien drink. I think of it as my new coffee. Sounds like you are eating the same kind of stuff that I did. I also enjoyed sugar free hot chocolate. I drink propel flavored water and crystal lite by the bucket.
I tried a drink of diet coke at about 2 months out and it tasted horrid. ( I knew it was not approved) And to think I drank 1/2 rack a day before surgery. Where did you have your surgery? and Who was your doctor? I have family here in Lewiston that will be moving to Boise in the spring. There are two ladies in the same family...mother daughter team... that hope to have wls. Good luck in your journey. please feel free to e mail me any time with any questions.
