Hi I am new
Hi my name is Tiff, I am from Pocatello Idaho. Im looking into getting the surgery but with medicaid it is really hard. I was raised in foster homes for most my life so getting my medical files are going to be an issue.. I just know I dont have much time left if anyone has any suggestion it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Tiff! My cousin is on Medicaid, and just found out the Dr. Oakley in Boise has done the DS for patients on Medicaid before, so she is going to jump through the hoops to try to get that done! (After seeing my success with the DS and knowing others who got RNY, she wants the DS sooooo bad she can't hardly stand it! And would only settle for RNY as a last resort. So this news has made her ecstatic!) Maybe you could contact his office for more information. His website is http://www.droakleymd.com/index.php?page=home.
Good luck!

thanks for the info. You couldnt possibly tell me the exact requirements could you? Oh and one more thing I know that you have to show you been dieting for 5 years, now does that have to be a steady stream of paperwork or can I find my old doctor and show proof that he gave me diet pills and I was on a diet regimen?
Your doctor can supply some of the information about your history of dieting but it's mostly a list of diets and dates and weight losses/gains that you fill out. Here is Dr. Korn's list of requirements but it's not Medicaid's list. Most of it is the same but there are some differences. You need to talk to a surgeon and they have all the info you need.
