Infections fm local ponds

I posted a message on the main board but wanted to give you Idahoans a heads up to beware of stagnan****ers, at least around the Treasure Valley.  This last summer I went fishing at a private, man-made pond near Eagle and never even touched any fish.  Just by touching my line to fi**** out of the weeds I contracted a very serious bacterial infection called aeromonas.  Within 2 days I was in St. Als (a place I've spent many weeks, many complications, surgeries, over almost 5 years) with severe dysentery and complete illius (my entire intestinal tract stopped and just leaked fluid and materials out).  It took a few days just to figure out what it was because it is so rare and no one had seen it before.  It doesn't cause symptoms in regular people but the bacteria travelled to my old stomach and bred like crazy.  It was a very serious situation and I had more complications from it (anything labelled "rare" means me).  So I just wanted to warn you about the local ponds and any other bacteria that can be transmitted by mouth (like food poisoning) because it will breed in our old stomaches.
