Medicare vs. Me

I've figured out that it is impossible to get a straight answer from/about Medicare coverage for Lap Band surgery.  Sooooo, you experts in the trenches, what does Medicare cover for Lap Band surgery at a Center of Excellence?  Thanks

Hi, I am a medicare patient and although I didn't have lapband, I was going to and I was told that they cover all of it. They covered every bit of my surgery except for the Program fee. Blessings, Annie W.

Thanks so much for replying, it helped a lot.  Also, I found a Medicare website that helped too.  http://www.cms.hhs.gov/mlnmattersarticles/downloads/MM5013.p df  Another question for you, however.  When you say that Medicare covered all of it - is that like 100% of all the costs or the normal 80%.  Can you tell that I'm hoping for a lot?  Congrats, too, on the weight you've lost to date.  Go Girl Go!  

They paid 100%! The program fee that I had was because the Dr. that I chose has you pay for a couple of other things like a personal trainer that works for him that you have to go to for 3 months 2 times a week. So yup. They paid 100%! Good luck to you, Blessings, Annie W.
