Doctors avaliable in Boise area
I am in Caldwell and need some ideas on who would be the best dr for me to see. My insurance is Tricare.
I am most interested in gastric bypass of some type. I have several comorbidities and really need some help to get the weight off. My activity level is down to zip because of knee, hip, back and foot pain. My left knee is ready for replacement, but I am really young to have it done. My dr has me on vicodin and Naproxen now. I am getting worse continually. I have Asthma, and high blood pressure as well.
I have been looking at RMAP in Salt Lake as my orthopedic surgeon recommended them. I would rather not have to travel that far if I can get good care here. Any help or experiences with the local Drs would be appreciated. Thanks Diana

I live in SLC and I'm looking into coming to Boise so I DON'T have to go to RMAP. I have met with them twice and twice I have been disappointed. I found a surgeon that I really am interested in going to. Here is the link.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes. I am out of control and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst...then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best. ---Marilyn Monroe
I'm from Ogden so I spend a lot of time down there. Family there all over. I am seeing Dr Caltin for my knees and hips. He is one of the best orthopedic surgeons.
I know of Dr Oakley. His reputation is very good. I am going to go to his support group on the 18th. We also have several others that are not listed on the site. My dr wants me to see someone else. I can't remember his name. It is different. They will also refer me to Dr Oakley if I want. I know there is one here who is in it only for the medicade. I have 2 friends who went to him and will not reccomend him. The problem is, they have both moved and I can't find their new phone numbers and I don't know the drs name. All the surgeons that do bariatrics are not OH. Maybe you can come up here for a surgery and I will go down there for another. The world gets to be a small place. If you come up here, I will be here for you. Diana
Hi there,
I am having surgery by Dr. Oakley July 23rd -I work at the local hospital as an interpreter and that's who everyone here in Twin Falls recommended. I had an appt with Dr Oakley a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed with his staff and programs. They also were very proactive about my paperwork, and I was approved 2 days after it was sent to the ins -so I highly recommend him. He is very professional and knowledgeable and nice, he includes you in the whole process. If you want to look at my profile you can click on his name (right under my picture) and it will take you directly to a link of comments on his work and his staff from people in Idaho and nearby places. Good luck with your decision making!
Hi, I am from Idaho, now living up north near Hermiston,ORegon. STOMAPHYX is brand new. FDA has approved it. No incision, 15 minutes!!! I found a dr in Anaheim doing the procedure. I do believe I am going to do this one. Any one who has had previous bariatric surgery is a possible candidate too. It is done through the natural orafice the esophagus.....It sounds so much easier and recovery time is barely there. Any one else think it sounds good too? [email protected]
