any one try to find a lapband surgeon that will accept medicare?

It is my understanding that Medicare will not cover this proceedure anymore. I know That Idaho Medicaid does though.

I haven't heard about this yet. I am in the process. I have gone to the surgeon's seminar. They know I am wanting Lap Band and they haven't said Medicare isn't paying for it and I asked Medicare just last week if they pay for it and they said yes as long as the Dr. says you need it. This just cant be true that would be a cruel thing to do to a person after getting the hopes up this high. I went to the seminar on the 27th. Sorry I could not come for a visit but I rode with 2 other people so ya know??????? Have you gotten your call yet? Im just so impatient I want it and I want it rite now lol. Hi I just wanted to check in with you people. I am a Medicare patient and live in Idaho. Medicare does cover the lap banding surgery..Medicaid does not. I had my surgery in Tennessee last July at Vanderbilt and I get my fills in Boise now that I am in Idaho. Medicare does pick up the tab for the surgery and the fills, so please don't worry about that part of it. Whoever told you Medicare doesn't cover it is absolutely and positively wrong. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me. In 9 mo. I have lost 98 lbs. and I love my band. I am at goal. Dee
