Anyone go to Mexico, Dr. Aceves to be exact? How did it go?
There are a few people that have had it done there that I know and so far they all say good things. I had it done in Idaho Falls at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from what I understand I paid about two thousand dollars more and never had to go out of the country and it was same day surgery I was home that night. The hospital has a program called NewU and it is fantastic. You can read about it on the web site for the hospital. I hope this helped. Have a great day.
http://www.eirmc.com/ that is the web site but you might have to google Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. I paid 11250.00 for everything. I have a cousin who went to Mexico at the same time and now she has to go back there for fills and doctor visits or she has to find someone here that will do fills for her. There are a few but she found them rather high priced, but I am not sure on all of that. All I know for sure is that when I go to the office I see a lady about nutrion a guy about excerise and then talk to the main nurse over the program. I hope this helped with your finding information about both. Good luck and I am so happy I did it. Even though there are good days and bad the good seem to out number the bad ones.

Hi Juli;
Oh my gosh, I can't believe what an awesome experience I had in Mexico. I had Dr. Alvarez, do my surgery, in Piedras Negras,MX. It was totally awesome. Go into the forum and read my blog. Piedras Negras is 220,000 poplulation and a very clean place. Dr. Alvarez is such an awesome dr. very compassionate.
I too was a self pay, flew down to San Antonio, his driver picked us up, I had surgery and in 3 days was back home. It was great to say the least. Dr. Alvarez has 0% leakage and 0% patients return for any reason. That is why I chose him, and he just happened to be in Mexico. I had no problem about Mexico. You got to go where the best dr.'s are, and he is the best I've found in 5 months of research. So I went and don't regret a darn thing.
If I can help you with any questions, let me know. I am now coordinating for Dr. Alvarez. I decided he was such a neat dr. I would love to work with him if I could, so now I get that opportunity and I have fun talking about my VSG and my experience.
His website is www.endobariatric.com you can view his credentals and the entire bit on there. If I can help you in any way, let me know. My name is Betty. I live in Buhl, Idaho, southern Idaho.
hope some of this helps.

Juli;
I just got back from Mexico. I went to Dr. Alvarez in Piedras Negras. It was a wonderful experience. I had the Vertical Sleeve Gasterectomy and I love it. I just didn't want to deal with visits and having something in my body, so I did not choose the lapband. That, and I know 3 people who had the lapband errode into their stomachs, all 3 of them after their repair, went in to have the Vertical sleeve. If you want to know more about this surgery let me know, would be glad to share with you.

You can also go into my blog and read my entire experience. I am 4 weeks out today, had my surgery on March 16th. I was self pay. The surgey only cost $10,000 total. I flew into San Antonio, TX and they picked me up, we drove to eagle pass, spent the night, picked me up there, went across the border, had surgery, friday, stayed saturday, and they drove me back to San Antonio on sunday, I flew home on monday.
