My name is Linda, I had surgery in Mexico last October on the 4th. My BMI was 35 when I got qualified and 32.5 at surgery and I have lost only 14 pounds since surgery. I just wonder if I need a fill, or when You get down to the lower BMI is it hard to lose. Can anyone tell me just what a meal looks like for them. I pretty much can eat anything I like. I plan on getting my first fill in January. I just thought if there was ladies in this area looking for a support group, I am here, where are you?

Hi Linda, I don't get a chance to visit this forum very often anymore, but had some free time tonight and saw your post. I am in Boise as well and had surgery in Mexico with Dr. Rumbaut in November of 2005. Who was your surgeon? I am surprised to hear that you had surgery in October and still have not had your first fill. I was one of the lucky ones that had "natural" post surgery restriction for almos 8 weeks post op and then the restriction diminished in what seemed like "overnight." I had my first fill at 8 weeks post op and seemed to get a little resrtiction, but needed my second about a month later. The second fill really started the process of restriction, the third fill was great! I didn't need my fourth until over 4 months later. I had my fourth fill on July 11th and I have not even had to think about another fill since then. I was 1 year post op on11/23 and had lost 80 pounds as of that date and about 83 to date. It sure sounds like you are ready to get those fills started and get on your way with your band. Have you joined Idaho Bandster's. They meet once a month at a designated place in Boise. Unfortunately, I've only been able to make it to one of the meetings, but hope to start making it to more. They are a great group! Drop me a note when you have time. It's always nice to have support close by! Take care, Brigitte
