Wanting Lap Band
I hear Dr. Anderson does the band in Boise. Contact info here: http://obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeon+profile+Bryan+Anderson+ndm.html
Dr. Cahn is in Meridian and I believe he does them too. Contact info here: http://obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeon+profile+Robert+Cahn+lrm.html
Hope this helps,

Dr. Cahn did my lap-band surgery. If you call St. Al's you can go to a free seminar that explains what the surgery is about. They hand out packets there that explain what you have to do in order to "qualify". I had to get a referral from my PCP, see a nutritionist, sleep doctor and psychologist before I could even make an appointment with Dr. Cahn. However, during that first appointment they scheduled my surgery! It took about 3 months from the time I went to the seminar until I had my surgery. I love Dr. Cahn.
BTW, my insurance paid for the surgery. I had to co-pay $400 to the hospital and @300 or so to Dr. Cahn. I had to pay more for Dr. Anderson to assist because he was out of ummmmm, can't remember what they call that! lol
Good Luck,

Hi Nancy,
Did you go to the seminar on Monday, February 12? You look familiar. I went to the seminar, I found out my insurance will cover, I am so excited, I have made all my appointments for sleep test, dietician and pyschology, I can't beleive it, i am in shock. I am afraid they'll change there minds, I was just noticing how much you have lost. That is a lot of weight for the LB, I thought the weight loss was slower and less, that is super to see, I want to lose more than 100 so I am hoping I can with the LB. any suggestions, helpful hints for me to prepare myself for this change in my life? I just can't wait now!! Thanks.
The only meeting I went to was in June or July of 2005. I had my surgery Oct of 2005 and have lost 87 lbs to date. I just recently went down to a size 12 pants. I plan to be in a size 10 by Christmas. Yes, the LB is slow, but it just keeps going as long as you want to. Once you get to where you want, you just don't get any more fills - unless you start getting hungry all the time again.
Congrats on your insurance paying!!! It's the best news ever, eh?
