I have not had surgery yet and I plan on attending. Hope to be post-op by then if I get approved and all. When I looked at the agenda I took it as pre and post. the exercise speakers agenda states pre and post op exercise programs as well as the overall intent of the conference is to allow people to make informed decisions. I think it is a great opportunity to get such an array of great knowledge from experts and have fun at the same time!!

JENN, I am .7 off from 50# today,, thought i would walk off that amount, but my knees are really acting up so am going to take off tomorrow morning from walking,,
I had stir fry today and learned I need to cook my veggies more cause if they are too crisp I have trouble with them.. I used italian sausage, cabbage, onion, gr pepper, yellow squash and a couple of tomatoes,, tastes so good with the sausage and it wasnt greasy either,, I usually make it in the summer and cover it with mozz. cheese and even the kids like it then..
also have had shrimp with garlic a few times.. takes more chewing, but I was ready for that,, nothing has really bothered me if I chew it good enough,,
take care,,
Take care and hang in there. Hope things get better for you.

First of all congrats on having your surgery! From the date of your post it looks like you are probably 5 weeks out now? All the changes that happen right away after surgery are absolutely amazing! I am 6.5 months out and have lost over 150 pounds since May when I started the journey for insurance approval. I lost 23 before surgery.
I am from the Minneapolis/St Paul area and am down in the Waterloo area this weekend visiting friends and family and thought I would pop on the Iowa message board and see what was happening. I don't see a lot of posting, but it is great to see that you do and a few others! The MN board is very busy, for better or worse sometimes!
I just wanted to congratulate you and let you know to fasten your seatbelt because this is going to be the ride of your life. If you ever have questions or need help, please feel free to contact me.
