Hi!

Has anyone subscribed to the OH magazine?  And if so, what are your thoughts on the material they include in the magazine.  Any opinions will be very helpful!

Welcome Becky!  I just had my psych visit yesterday, have to go back in a few weeks to cover the questionaire they have you complete at your 1st consult.  Then she said she would send my clearance back to Dr Glas**** and hopefully get my insurance submitted.  Bummer she couldn't fit it all in one visit since I have to drive so far, but oh well I enjoyed meeting with her.

Welcome! Congrats on your first appt! I had mine at UIHC on 12/15..couldn't be happier, and defiantly NO regrets! Keep up the exercise, it'll be easier to keep up your good habits after surgery!

In Episode 20, we get to announce a new sponsor, give some shout outs to some of our most prolific BTV pimps and pimpettes, toss around some protein, and highlight another great weight loss surgery blog and recipe website.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • We get to announce a new sponsor
  • Lynnda and Toni “attempt" to send thanks but sometimes, the brain just shuts off.
  • Protein supplements, even after 5 years, we still take them.
  • It really is a lot of protein to try to get in with eating alone.
  • Lynnda thinks of omelets when she hears our latest website recommendation.
  • We highlight another great blogger who not only talks about weight loss surgery, but plastic surgery too. She has great recipes.
Come on over and join the fun.

Hi Becky,

So nice to hear about you.  I am glad to know you and hope to see you sometime at a support group or event.

Hey, we have all had the fears and nerves that go with this surgery.  It is not just a surgery; it is a change of life and the surgery is a tool to make that happen.  I believe the surgeon has the easy part and we have the hardest part..........even though they make a lot of money doing the easy part.  :-)  I felt nervous and had fears up until a week before my surgery.  Then I felt at peace with what I was doing.

I had RNY surgery on Feb. 11th at UIHC and couldn't be more pleased with my outcome thus far.  I had the support of my family and some friends (just the ones I told about it before having the surgery............I knew they'd be supportive and that's why I told them) and that helped immensely.

We are all here to support one and other so hopefully you'll find that here.  Please keep us posted as you go through this journey.  I am sure you will but I want to make sure you know we want to hear from you.

Way to go with the jogging last night.  I have a Gazelle that I work out on when I can't get outside or go to Curves.  Jogging is good and even walking on the treadmill is good so keep it up.

Have a great weekend....................

Carol

Hi all!
I'm Becky, 30 from CR. Been overweight my entire life. As you can tell by my join date this is something I have been considering for a long time! I have my 1st consultation with Dr.Matt early next month. I don't think I've ever been so ready for anything, although I would be lying if I said I'm not nervous or scared about it!
Hoping to make some new friends and cheer everyone on. It's sooooo exciting watching you all shed the weight. I did something truly monumental last night on my treadmill..I ran! Ok..it was a jog...and only during one commercial break of American Idol...but still My body ran!

Thanks, JJ.  Sounds like we need to have a medical alert bracelet or something.  I guess I'll look for something for myself.

Thanks again!
