I started this journey on October 17, 2008, my 53rd birthday. Had my surgery on Feb. 11, 2009. I weighed this morning on my home scale and I am so happy to say that I have lost almost 57 pounds now. Everyone who sees me notices it immediately so I guess that it's showing. I am down four clothing sizes since I began this journey in October, so I know the weight is not there like it was. I am so happy about the loss and hope that it continues that way until I get 90 pounds off like I want to.
Thank you all for listening and hope that you are doing well and losing or maintaining each day.
Happy Weekend,
Carol

Congratulations on getting this far in the whole process. I'll keep my fingers crossed and say some prayers that everything goes smoothly for you. Keep us all up to date. It's always so good to hear positive things happening for other people....makes me think my turn may be just around the corner!!

Cravings are normal - usually it's head hunger. Lately - my little craving has been bacon.. someone walked by my cubicle with a warm sandwich with bacon and I swear the smell made me feel like the puppy in the "beggan strips" commercial!!! They were lucky I didn't leap over the wall and drool. ;-)
As you get further out you'll find you can 'taste' many of those things you crave (once you discover you likeliness to dump - so start small just in case). When the PB craving**** me I was able to satisfy it with a PB flavored shake. Someone on the message boards recommended the PB2 powder that is essentially a peanut butter powder. You can mix with water and spread, or add into foods.
Breads STILL don't sit well with me - so test the waters very carefully.

Thanks again for your help and input.
