Topic: So...I'm 5 months out today...
And it's been an interesting ride thus far.
So far I've lost 54lbs and 41 inches, so I've been averaging 10lbs  a month, but I swear that those last 5 lbs hang out till the last day or so just to torment me!

I've noticed that I usually don't lose anything for about 2 weeks at a time, and I've just decided to deal with it and not get all worked up about it anymore.

So besides the scale tormenting me, the only main issues I've been having is getting my water in and my B-12 levels have TANKED, like to 300ish, which before surgery, they weren't that great anyways.  So I might be adding a shot to my regimen if they don't come up soon.

I will say, I can definitely tell that it is effecting me.  My short term memory is non-existent, I literally have to write EVERYTHING down, and I also get nerve pain sporadically in my legs and back.

I had a McDonald's cheeseburger for the first time in 6 months on Sunday, cause we were on our way back from Wisconsin, and that was the most disgusting thing I think I have ever eaten, jeez, I really don't know how I ate them before!!

I've noticed my tastes and interests have really changed in food, I have found that I really like salty food now, when I never liked salt on anything before, and I don't like sweets as much anymore, don't get me wrong, I'll pop 3 or 4 peanut(protein) M&M's every few weeks, but I can literally walk away after only having 4 at most, they just don't do it for me anymore.  Give me some chex mix or gardetos(which I buy the single serve bags) and I'm a happy camper

Beef Jerky is definitely one of my best friends, I always have a couple snack size bags in my backpack just in case I run late at school, I found some really good ones at the Dollar Store, single serve 70 calories 10 gr protein, ya can't go wrong!!!

With my new-found lightness, I have taken up running again, I joined the Cedar Valley Running Assoc. just to help me keep my motivation.  I have set my goal to be able to run a 10k by October, and I think I'll be able to do it, plus maybe it'll help make my butt smaller!! All of my weight loss seems to melt to the middle and stop!!

Anyways, I'll stop my ramble, I blame it on my B-12! LOL.  I hope everyone is doing great, and if I can help you in anyway, please send me a message!

I will TRY to be at the next support group meeting in IC, and I won't make the one in CR cause I'll be in Guatemala for my study abroad session.

Congratulations!  I am very happy (and a little bit jealous) for you!  Let me know what you think of your doctor.  I am looking into surgery and have heard a little about him.  Good Luck, and Good Health!

Michelle,
Let me first start by saying "I Really missed you at both of the past meetings!!!!!"  I think this whole situation sucks!! I feel partially responsible, however not one bit guilty about who ever it is and their issue! LOL.  With that being said, neither you nor I brought up eggface's website, it was another member.  And wasnt that the same night that you passed around the cookbooks? I thought that was an awesome meeting and I cant imagine someone NOT wanting good recipe ideas!! Food addiction or not, we all need to eat and we all need to eat HEALTHY!! Its not like you shared a recipe for a BIG MAC or something ridiculous?!?!  I cant help but wonder who it was that had the cow about this.  2 or 3 people pop in my mind at the moment, one of which hasnt been back since that meeting and one that was just 8 days post op at this past meeting!!  I hope you can/will decide to go to the next meeting....and Debi is asking us to bring a pre-op picture to share with the group.

So, how have you been? How are things going? How much have you lost by now??? I feel like I havent heard/seen you forever!! Let us know how you are doing!! Miss you!!

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!  I remember that starving feeling right before my surgery after 3 weeks on the pre-op diet.  If your experience is anything like mine, it will be a long time before you have that feeling again.  Over 9 months out, and I still don't feel hungry!

My bad, Michelle.  I misunderstood what you said.  I thought you said you talked to Debi and she told you to lay off the support group for awhile.  I understand now that it's your decision to stay away.  I get it because my mouth can puke out some pretty nasty things when I'm ticked too.  :-)
