I think you are doing terrific, Bonnie.  Sounds like you are losing very well and having great success.  I feel like I am eating too much sometimes too, but guess that's all part of this journey.

Take care and keep posting.

So is anyone else getting as excited as I am about the upcoming OH event in Chicago?    Every now and then I check the schedule to see if anything new is posted.

I'm nine months out now... and WLS doesn't consume my thoughts like it did 10 months ago or 7 months ago -   but it is still so important  to remember past struggles and to keep my toolbox full of suggestions and inspiration as I try to cement my healthier lifestyle into firm habits.

Let me know if you are going to be there - and what you are looking forward to the most!

Jody

I'm just North of the Quad Cities. My surgeon is Dr. Olson with Trinity- so the surgery is at their West Campus in Rock Island.

Dr. David Coster performed my surgery on 7/2/08.  SInce the surgery, I have lost 136 pounds in 10.5 months.  I have met his goal for me, but I hope to lose at least 10 more pounds.  I had been diagnosed as diabetic about 6 months before the surgery, and that was resolved immediately after the surgery.  I still take one blood pressure medication, but I think that may be because I was on Vioxx for my osteoarthritis for over 4 years.

When did you have your surgery done? And who was the surgeon that did it? Dr.Sundberg is so great to talk to about Gastric Bypass issues cause he has been there  and done that himself. i have had Sundberg do another surgery on me that is how i met him for the very first time. and at that time i didn't know he had Gastric Bypass surgery himself. I started out weighing 273 pound and i got down to 126 i weigh 137 now But I so muchg  healthier then i have been in years and  I'm off alot of my meds i was on. and i don't have sleep apnea and more.

Deb, congratulations on your success and your dedication to doing what you need to do for your post-WLS life.  You are an inspiration to us all, especially those of us who are not as far along as you.  I also had my surgery at Grinnell Regional, and Dr. Sundberg assisted with my surgery.  I met with him for my pre-op exam and he is also an inspiration.

Continued good health and happiness to you!
