Topic: RE: MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!
I have found, that although, Dr. Strand is not an Iowa physician, he is based in Sioux Falls, SD and accepts Iowa Medicaid. I see him tomorrow for my consult, and it is required of him that you attend the seminar, and follow through with a dietician. I have met him once already and he seems like a very good doctor.

Topic: Penis and testicles
If I had a penis and testicles ,the body lift I got would make much more sense.  Too bad my vagina doesn't fit in the  mix I was left with. It just got in everyone's way I guess.  Maybe a sex change operation would remedy the horrible pelvic arrangement I find myself in.
In the next life, if I need a body lift I hope, I remember from this life to get  a woman plastic surgeon to perform it.

Topic: IT's stupid when...
so much hip padding and tummy are cut off in body lifts.  They serve as suspension mechanisms and if they are cut off your legs are left to just swivel around painfully in their socketts.
My body used to be inside my skin before body lift.  Now, for the 11 years after lift,  it's more like my skin is ON  my body.  It even hurts when I stand on my tiptoes as they ie. plastic surgeons, didn't think of leaving enough skin to accomodate this type of motion change.  Horrible!

Topic: Hello Iowa!
I've been on this site for most of the month & just found the Iowa forum...LOL! I'm not the best with type of stuff. I live in Urbandale & am having VSG 3/22/12 w/ Dr. Lamasters. I was wondering a couple of things.... 1st who else out there will be having their surgery about same time & who out there live near Urbandale? Are there support groups outside of the hospital around here? I'm looking to build friendships with support.

Topic: rude
i am sad that my doctors who are educators of circumferential  belt lipectomies  refuse  to revisit and evaluate the devastating results of zap wrapping my pelvic/sacral slope connective tissue during circumferential belt lift for overliposuctioned buttocks.   Everything buckled under ( pelvic retroversion) as my  thin but very strong quadricep connective tissue was pulled up  higher than it's origin point  and cut off as dog ears. I have no underbelly and leg musculature is destroyed. I have chronic  pain and deformity and great potential for complete lower body dysfuntion.  Science (?) can be very rude.

Topic: RE: Post your intros and updates here!
Hi all - my name is Rowrena but I go by Ro.  I'm in the process of going through all the hoops to have a revision from my VBG I had in July of 1999.  Unfortunately I had to have 3 back surgeries following the VBG (Dec 7, 1999, Jan. 4, 2000 and May 1, 2001) and it hindered me quite a bit in losing and keeping off the weight.  I am also to blame for my VBG not working.  I really wanted the RNY at the time but my family was not going for it.  I wish I had went with my gut back then.

Anyway, I am seeing Dr. Glas****'s office and have had my initial consultation and my psych evaluation and am waiting to hear what is next.  The dietitian went through the diet and the protein and vitamins that I will need to have lined up to start two weeks before the surgery and I am having trouble deciding which ones to go with.

I'm hoping there are others here from Dr. Glas**** that can help me decide which protein powder is preferred by most and where you get all the vitamins from.  I could sure talk to someone who has already gone through the surgery to help me with all this information.  I understood everything she was telling me that day about 30 days ago but now I'm looking at the information and am a little confused.  I can call and talk with her but I'm wanting other patients points of view on which products they preferred.

I hope there are others out there that have used Dr. Glas**** that can be a friend with ideas of things I should try.  Hope to hear from you soon.

Topic: LGBT forum invitation
Hello,
I just wanted to let people know and anyt there is a forum for the community and anyone who is friendly and want to stop by. I was very active 3 years ago and would like to see it become active again.   It is listed under  "weight loss related"

I am not attempting to offend anyone. I understand that some might not agree with me posting. I am doing it to help LGBT people. Everyone has the right to not agree. I respect that.

                                                             Thank You !

The holidays are coming and I am just tossing this out to see how you are all planning to get through the dinner parties and other social events without over eating, or eating what you shouldn't.

Let's hear your good ideas!
