I also have Wellmark BCBS of Iowa but have the Lap Band. I went through Mercy Center of Weight Loss and they helped me get approved and the program helped me with all the hoops that had to be jumped through before surgery.

I'm sorry you won't be able to attend - I was looking forward to meeting you! I know I mentioned I might be interested catching you all in Iowa City and car-pooling over - but I have three young adults who've decided to come along so they can enjoy a weekend in Chicago, so we are working around everyone's work schedules.
For any of the others who are going - I'm hoping to see you there.

Topic: CLOTHING EXCHANGE IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello Chicago event attendees! For anyone who is bringing in clothing for the Friday Exchange, please drop it off at the hotel's loading dock. They do not want it brought through the front entrance of the hotel. When you pull up, ask the valet where to go; they will have instructions.
It's getting close! Don't forget to bring sweaters! This is a lovely but chilly hotel!!

Topic: Clothing Exchange at Chicago Event
Hi everyone!
I wanted to let you all know about the clothing exchange that will be taking place on June 12th at the OH conference in Rosemont, IL.
If you have clothes that you would like to pass along to others please bring them to the conference in Rosemont on June 12. Drop off begins at 10 am. I will be there along with others to help sort them out.
If you can remember a few things:
1. Please make sure all clothing is WASHED prior to drop off.
2. If you can sort them into bags by size before dropping off, that will be a big help.
3. Exchange will open at 2:00 pm.
4. People do not have to bring clothing to be able to take clothing home.
5. Please bring your own bags to transport your "treasures" home with you.
6. There is no extra charge for ANY of this! It is included in your ticket!

I was just at Genesis last week, and I am going back tomorrow as a matter of fact! While meeting with the nurse she did mention that they now are offering the sleeve. Didn't really go into detail about it, but I know it's available. I am having Lap Band done so we didn't talk much about it.

I had my surgery at Mercy in Mason City on 03/31/09. They were awesome. I had told them that I have a problem with getting sick coming out of surgery and they did an wonderful job making sure I had the meds and patches that I needed and I never once got sick. The staff at the Bari clinic is wonderful.

Topic: Genesis in Davenport?
I live way up north right near the Minnesota border and am looking for somewhere that does the sleeve. The closest I've found is Genesis in Davenport. Anyone been there that can fill me in?
