Topic: RE: Dr Bruce Hardy, Ames IA
Hi, Janell. I had Dr. Hardy do my surgery 3 1/2 years ago. He's very good and has very good bedside manners, very professional. He also was so encouraging on each visit. He really pushes lots of walking, which is easy to do just starting out or after recovery.
Best of luck. I'll be anxious to hear your surgery date!

Topic: RE: Question about process.. Glas****Satori
I am in the process of doing all my testing and finishing up my supervised diet. I have done my consult with Angie at Dr. Glass****'s office and the nutritionist, sleep study-both nights (have apnea), echocardiogram-due to being on phen-fen a few years ago (everything looks totally normal thank goodness!!!!!), and I will have my endoscopy next Monday. I have researched and researched the lapband and read Dr. G's credentials and everyone elses in his office. I even printed them off and took them to my family doc, whom I WHOLE HEARTEDLY trust, and he told me that Dr. G and his staff have EXCELLENT credentials and after reading all of your posts and replies on here, from people whom have had Dr. G do their surgery, I am totally at ease and feel very safe. I guess what I want to do is thank all o you who have had Dr. G for posting your experiences on here for all of us 'newbies' or 'wannabies' (pun intended. HAHA). You help put my mind at ease and I am sure that you have helped several others. Can't wait to join all of you 'losers' (haha)

Good for you! I am only 2 days away from my surgery here in DSM. I hope I see the same results as you have! Any advice???
Topic: RE: Rumor has it . . . Mercy Capital
Actually, I am having a RNY on Tuesday at Mercy Capitol. I haven't heard anything about only doing lapbands. I did read the article in the paper about the lapbands and the surgeons were quoted and were going to start doing them. What kind of problems are you having? Any suggestions or advice for me...2 days to go!

Topic: RE: Dr G's Support Group
Maybe we can all get together again in July.. of course we don't know what the topic is because they're not that far ahead in the web site...
Dixie ... glad all is quiet at home LOL.... we can talk later... Headed to IL this weekend...
Janie
And I agree... do we ever get over the food addiction? It seems to be a constant struggle...
Topic: RE: Dr Bruce Hardy, Ames IA
Dr Hardy only does the RNY, so I am not sure about lapband. I work for Mercy and have Midland's Choice and they are real sticklers but they will pay for it, eventually. He told me he rarely has trouble with BCBS.....he requires a 6 day hospital stay and he said that Midland's sometimes questions this.
Dr Hardy is at the MacFarland Clinic in Ames and doesn't have a website that I'm aware of.....good luck!

Ok, I get the hint, Janie. Just didn't have anymore goings on down in the basement to report-fortunately.
I'll write this weekend.
