Hello.  I am Chris and live in Earlham and also am having Dr. Smolik do a rny on me.  I have my 4 hour class tomorrow with susan, and since I have done all my appts and evals and such might be able to schedule surgery tomorrow too.  How did your surgery go?  I am so curious what I will be experiencing afterwards.  How bad was the pain? Did the walking help?  Did you have to lose weight before surgery? Dr. Smolik wants me to lose 20 pounds before my surgery.  What did you find to be the best tasting powder shakes and protein?  I hope you can answer my questions and maybe we can be support for each other.  I am gonna need all the help I can get.  I have already talked to my ins co and they verbally apprvd it and they will send in the request when they get my psych eval which is tomorrow morning.  My psych doc is gonna try to get my eval done and faxed over to mercy capital by 12:15 which is my appt time.  Good luck on your weigh to success!  :)

I spent one whole day a while back reading all the memorials.  It just gave me that thought that I have researched EVERYTHING fully!  If you read a lot of those were not WLS related.  I did read a few that had horrible experiences.  I think the surgery has come a long way especially with identifying problems early if need be.

Goodness - I didnt realize there was a memorial page, but Im pretty sure I dont want to see it!!Only you can decide if surgery is for you - but I guess if you think of where you are without it.....   It is definately normal to have nerves before anything like this.  (I havent had my wls yet but have had other kinds of surgery and it can be scary.)  Good Luck what ever you decide!

Yeah! Congratulations!  I am sure by now you know mine is two days before yours!  I have known longer and OMG time is going slow! I cannot wait to have time off of work!
