Hello. I am in Keokuk. I am just starting this journey. I have chosed Dr. Matt Glass**** in Cedar Falls Iowa. I have been researching this for several years and feel he is by far the best surgeon. A fried of mine also wen to him two years ago and had not problems. Who are you looking at?

Hello. I am just West of Des Moines and my surgeon is in Des Moines. His name is Mark Smolik. He did my gallbladder surgery in May and I chose him because I knew he was going to be doing my rny surgery and I feel safer knowing he has already been in there once. If you would like his # just let me know. He is at the Center for Weight Reduction at Mercy Capital. Hope this helps a bit anyways! Chris

I can't wait to become a loser with you. Good luck with your surgery and recovery. Congrats on the vacation before sick time. I am leaving on vacation the 4th of July through the 8th of July and then I start a 2 week liquid diet starting on the 9th. Times my vacation so that I would be back home in time to start the liquids. UUUGGGHHHHH.

I'm sorry to hear about the postponement, but that IS wonderful news about your sugar levels!!! Every surgeon is different in what they prescribe pre-op. I have read where some surgeons require 2 and 3 weeks for a liquid diet pre-op. I have to do a 1200 calorie diet starting July 2nd and then two days before surgery nothing but protein drinks, sf pudding, unsweetened applesauce, yogurt, etc. My surgery is scheduled for July 16th and I can't wait!!!! Unfortunately, now and then I have been eating my "last supper" several times over the last two weeks, things I will never eat again after surgery (at least that is my plan, to only eat healthy foods once banded). Congratulations! I know how excited you must be! My surgery is scheduled for July 16th - one week before yours. I found out on June 7th (which seems like a lifetime ago.....lol). Sounds like you've got your list of things! I've got my shopping list all ready and will be getting everything this next week when I'm on vacation. Yep, I decided to take some vacation time before I had to take sick time.....lol We'll both soon be "losers" and I can't wait! Hugs, JoDee

Hello Angie. I am so sorry to hear about your story. Please call the Mercy Center for Weight Reduction in Des Moines, IA and ask them about it. It couldn't hurt anyways. That is where I am going.
