If you dont have insurance and cant get on medicaid you can finance it or pay out of pocket.. unfortunatly the surgery is VERY expensive.
I am just starting the process and in Eastern Iowa the best doctor I have found is Dr Glas**** in Cedar Falls. I went to the seminar run by him the other night and I am going to go with him! He has his stuff together.
Alot of people have their own opinions on here. All you can do is do your homework and make your own decision.

New to the process. Need lots of info. Are there doctors in my area good with DS/bpd and doing it laproscopically? What should I know before I choose which WLS I get? Is there financial help to people with out insurance? Thanks for any info you have for me!!!

I haven't been here forever, lots of new faces! Congrats to all that have surgery, good luck to those waiting! I'm 3 yrs out, feeling fantastic. For those of you that just had surgery remember you didn't gain your weight over night & it won't go away over night. Patience is the key word. Carolyn

YES YES! I had Really low back pain and have NEVER had back problems... I was told.. as you lose weight and cause we lose it fast... that our posture changes. Im 7 months out and alot better now. Weird I know, but so true... Heating pads work wonderful!

Hey, I am having low back pain, and pain in the hip joint when I am sleeping on my side. Does anyone have these symptoms? I think I have had this pain all along, but prior to WLS I had a lot of other pains...that hurt me more! lol! Any suggestions?

An idea to make it all much easier is to buy Optisource vitamins thru www.walgrens.com
You only take 4 a day, at meals and bedtime.
They have everything you need in them and only cost $27. a month, they will even do an auto ship.
They come in a 120 count bottle, and taste like orange sherbet. Hope that helps a little!
