Topic: RE: question for people that have had surgery

I really didn't need much while at the hospital--I slept and enjoyed being taken care of for a change!  The one thing I was really glad I had when while at home was long-handled tongs.  I didn't have to bend to pick stuff up off the floor or get out of the chair to reach stuff.  I also was glad to have purchased the DietMinder books to track my compliance and weight loss.  That was great.  And I was glad I had a food scale (once into the real food stage).

Good luck with the journey!

Actually I brought many things to the hospital.  I loaded my Mp3 player up with audiobooks and listened to none of them.  I guess the things that I was thankful for were my toothbrush and a change of clothes on day 2.  Thats about it.  Oh and carmex.

Topic: question for people that have had surgery
I'm still waiting for a surgery date.  Hopefully will get a date next week.  Anyways, I would like to know for those people that have had their surgery, what is one thing that you wish you had or you're glad you had for after the surgery?

Topic: Iron Infusion Part 2
Well, I had my first iron infusion on Friday.  It wasn't a big deal.   I have another one this coming Friday.  Then in 4 weeks we'll check the labs and hopefully they will be good and will stay that way.

Topic: RE: Stressing about lack of medical records
I started the 6 months of supervised diet also. Mentally and financially I was prepared to do the surgery in Jan. Doing the 6 months of diet just pushes it back to March. I can live with that. I also tried to do it on my own in the past and so have no records. I was hoping my higher BMI would sway the decision but not yet.

I am stressing about the same thing.  I don't have any medical records about my weight.  I always tried to handle it on my own.  I'm starting the supervised diet on Friday because with my luck I'm pretty sure that's the road I'm going to have to go down.  Plus I'm at the low end of the BMI so I'm certain I'm going to have to do this 6 months.

Lynda,

Long time no see and CONGraTS on your awesome weight loss!!!!! This board seems to be pretty slow these days. There are a few of us "oldies" that post every now then again. I hardly ever get online anymore as my 2 year old keeps me very  busy. :) I don't want to miss anything about him growing up.

Keep in touch.

Topic: RE: Iron Infusions??

My hemoglobin fell to 6 after my revision.  My surgeon gave me a shot  of iron and it brought it up right away.  They gave a small amount first and then waited a while to see if I would react and then gave me the rest.

Topic: HI I am back!!!!!!!!!
HI everyone it has been a very long time since I have been here and posting and putting a new picture of me on here.  I have to say I am truely sorry for that.  I havent had internet for over a year.  So I will get up to speed on what has been going on with me.  Lets see I have lost over 200 lbs and Kept it off and let me tell you i am so glad for that.  For eating foods found out I cant have dairy products,  any thing with splenda in it or fat free foods.  I cook all the time but I give the food way to friends and family.  Snacking yes I do that but snacking are healthy (beef jerky, peanut butter, fruits and veggies.  I got it so my son has healthy snacks also.  I do wander how my friends on here are.  I think some of us that have had the surgery forget to post on a regular basis.  It isnt because we dont  want to we forget to because we are busy.  Seems like you get more busy as time goes by.  I will try my best to update and post more often.  I will get a new picture of me on here soon I do promise that.......If anyone needs to talk I am here for anyone.....Lynda
