I saw my Dr. on Youtube the other day discussing how the abdominoplasty part of belt lipectomies has to be done differently for people who have cone shaped legs. He said they can be a surprise to the uninitiated surgeon. The implication was that devastating problems would occur. I think I must have been his initiation to cone shaped legs during my belt lipectomy and that it was too late for him to make allowances for my legs being so prominent in front because he had already cut the initial incision too low. The skin got pulled up from my pelvic slope to close over everything and that is probably why I have so much pain and deformity today, 10 years after. The Youtube presentation seems to have been pulled from viewing.

I live near Des Moines and had rny surgery in 2008 at Mercy.      This post is a little quiet - with the exception of the posts about the failed plastic surgery.   I am so sorry for her,  and wish she would find some peace.

Now that the weather has turned lovely - is everyone getting out and walking for exercise, gardening for stress relief, and preparing for summer clothing?      I've been doing my strength training - but have come to realize that the arm flaps and thigh skin is probably just here to stay and may be best if I don't share it with everyone.   ;-)

I am just starting to find my way around this site.  I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Ver Steeg on May 27th -- that's 10 days from today!!!!  I found a friend on this site who goes by lady_myst who had Dr Ver Steeg for her surgeon and she speaks very highly of him.  
Where are you at with your process?
