Hi Kim!  I have been on OH for a little over a year now.  I kinda dropped off the face of the earth the last few months because of school, but I'm back now.  Yay!  I was denied the first time I applied for approval.  I just kept at it and did the 6 month supervised diet again and I got approved this time.  So just keep at it.  You'll get there.  I'm seeing Dr. LaMasters.  She's in the same office as Dr. Eibes.  I like them both.  They seem like really good people.

Hi my name is Jennifer...i live in SE Iowa...south of Iowa City. I am hoping to have surgery as I am awaiting approval from my insurance. What has only been about 3 weeks of waiting is starting to feel like an eternity! They are hoping to hear by Jan 8th so that we can schedule surgery for late Jan...i hope and pray i get an answer soon!! I was just wondering if anyone knows when the next support group meeting is at the University of Iowa? I looked on their website but they still have the December meeting info up. Thanks in advance for any help i get! I look forward to this long journey!

Hello Everyone!!

Hope you had a great Christmas!  Mine was wonderful and relaxing!  It was the first of many to come in Clinton IA.  We were transferred here from the west coast and I have to say that I do love the small town life... I do wish that there was a support group closer to me though!  That was one regret about leaving WA...I was in a fantastic group and there was so much support.  Don't get me wrong, my family is wonderful but they can only take so much!  LOL

I would love to meet more ppl out there that have had the surgery and maybe we could start up our own group locally???  I have so much going on inside and I would just love to sit and talk to someone!!!!!!!!  I hate food but then I truly love it!  I know I shouldn't eat somethings but it's that little bird in my head saying..."oh, it's ok just this once!"  then the once turns to twice and so on and so on...  I know that I'm suffering a little from some depression but I'm trying so hard to get out of those blues! 

Anyway...just wanted to say hi.............."HI"  :-)  and introduce myself...I'm Darcy and I'm 38yrs old, had my surgery Apr 06 and lost 130lbs but have put close to 10lbs back on...UGH!!!  For the most part I'm a very happy person and love the changes that are going on daily BUT I really would like to get involved with a group!
