Did you have school today? We didnt, but someone said that it wasnt because of the cold...it was because kalona apparently lost power over night, and just got it back on around 6:00am. So I guess we might be having school tomorrow...Im not sure I want my little ones out in that cold weather!! One of my boys is not feeling well so I called and got a sub tonight just incase we do have school tomorrow, but really, if they were smart, they would keep all those kids home and safe and warm...of course that is just my opinion!
Down is definately the way to go...how are you doing on your diet? We should really call it a "lifestyle change"--diets sound so here and now, and a lifestyle change is FOREVER!!
Are you getting excited for your pre-op appt?? It will be here before you know what happened!! WOO HOO!!

Glad you have your pre-op over with now and can focus on the liquid diet and gearing up for surgery. Only 13 more days to go and that is so awesome and exciting.
That's great that they'll remove your gallbladder when they do your surgery. My friend had her surgery in Waterloo and she had to have her gallbladder out first and heal from that before they'd do her RNY. I know I don't have to worry about that because mine was removed when I was 19. Sounds like you are doing well with the weight loss too. Down is the direction we want our weight to go, huh?
I hope your pipes can be thawed out without any breaks. That's such a mess to deal with and with the weather we're having, I'm sure there are lots of folks out there in your situation too. Glad your hubby is going to be home tomorrow to get it taken care of.

Glad you are doing okay. I know you'll have a great appointment tomorrow. Just think, it's the first step in the right direction and you're doing it for you because you're worth it.
Yes, I am gearing up for my surgery. Have a whole list of questions for my pre-op appointment on the 30th. Want to remember to ask things so I make a list of questions as I think of them. The poor team at the clinic probably dreads seeing me come through the doors because I always have a ton of questions.
You'll have to let us know how your apointment goes tomorrow and keep in touch.

As it turns out..I have a bazillion gaul-stones, and have to have my gaul-bladder removed during my bypass. This is fine with me, then I dont have to worry about stones at a later point. 
It apparently means that they will be in surgery longer, but Im the only case of they day, so that isnt a big deal. I also found out that because I am down 20lbs I dont have to start my liquid diet until Wednesday instead of Monday, so I only have to be on that for 7 days...what a relief!! 
On a lighter note, our pipes froze last night, and since my husband wont be home until tomorrow sometime, I have no running water...that means no dishes, no shower, no laundry, no flushing the toilets!!!
which by the way is NOT fun with 3 little boys running around!!

Im Jenn, Im having my RNY surgery on 1-28-09 so I cant help with the lapband thing either!! However, I say if your insurance doesnt approve you, appeal, appeal, APPEAL!!!
I was told with my insurance that it would take 4 weeks, and maybe more because I had christmas and new years eve in there. if you dont hear anything by 4 weeks and are getting anxious like I was, call your insurance company and check on the status...that is exactly what I did and I found out that I was approved!!! In fact, I found this out just last week, and Im having surgery in 13 DAYS!!!
Feel free to be "long winded" with us anytime, thats what we are here for!! And trust me we will do the same in hopes that you will lend an ear!
I got some sample protein drinks at www.bariatriceating.com they have a great website with lots of great info on it about WLS. I havent tried any yet, as I hear our tastes will change after surgery, and Im not sure where to get them locally. I dont even know if I will use them since they dont recommend them at the office I go to.
As far as the avatar goes..I just kept trying different pictures until one worked. Im not sure what the trick is..im just figuring out this whole forum thing...wish I knew how to change the font/color?! LOL.

Still haven't figured out how to decrease the size of my picture. I've tried compressing it and I understand how to upload the pic to the avatar, but my pics are too large, just like me! hahaha
I used to drive down to Davenport.....Genesis has a support group that is open to anyone. They are great down there.....but I got busy with life and got out of the habit of going. Maybe when the weather is nicer I will start going again. If you hear anymore about Glas**** heading this way, let me know.....that would be great to have something here.
