Hi Jody,
Thanks for the prayers and thoughts! So far today it hasnt been toooo horrible. Dont get me wrong...its not GREAT either. I got really hungry around 3:30. When I get hungry I tend to get shaky, a headache and grouchy...which isnt always good when your trying to get a bunch of 4 year olds on the bus to go home! :D I came home and had a sugar free juice pop and some yogurt and I feel fine now. I am thankful for that because I was worried that It would just get worse!! I didnt have much for lunch, tomato soup and some s/f f/f pudding and natural applesauce. I took jello with me too but I started using a baby spoon and it definately took a lot longer to eat with than regular silverware!!

Im definately needing some re-assurance at the moment...I will try to start a new thread with that whole issue...its a whole other talk show!!! LOL!!

Jenn -

I AM wishing you good luck.    Mercy had me lose weight before they'd schedule the surgery - but I didn't have to do the liquid diet ahead of time  (they only do that with the lap bands).   However, FOLLOWING surgery  -  I had to do 10 days of clear liquids.    It went by much faster and easier than I thought.

I'm going to be praying for you as you approach surgery.   I seemed to get increasingly stressed out as my day approached.      But I have to tell you - I am really happy with the results right now... and while I would have told you I was mostly healthy a year ago - I am SO much better right now.

Blessings!   Jody

I really like the Bariatric Advantage chewables.  I get them online from  www.bariatriceating.com  - or I think the last place I got them was www.ibariatric.com (but the shipping time was long - so allow lead time).       The calcium took some getting used too- it felt a little chalky at first, but 5  months out I actually like the cinnemon and/or mint flavors.

I've also used the citrical petites (you can find them at Hy-Vee or Walgreens).

STOP!! I know what your thinking, and its NOT what you think!!

I was at the grocery store today, with my check list of things I need both pre and post-op. I was trying to think through what I was going to buy and prepare for my family and myself for the next couple days and while im on the liquid diet. I just decided that it will be waaaay easier (well in thought at least) to start my liquid diet tomorrow as previously planned then to have to try to buy breakfast and lunch items that I can eat for the next two days (after all, when does anything ever come in a 2 day only supply). So im giving up on food, until after my surgery...and boy does that sound odd!!

This weekend we went and had the "last supper" all though i didnt go over board like some people have/do. I ordered a 8oz sirloin, mashed potatoes, side salad and we were at Texas Roadhouse, so I had a couple peices of their WONDERFUL bread! I ate about 1/3 of the steak, all of the potates (which are pretty small portions compared to other resturants) and the salad. Then we went out for a few drinks as a last hoorah!! Im done with alcohol...and Im definately okay with that!!

Well, call me crazy.. but those are my thoughts!! Wish me luck!

Topic: RE: Vitamins/Supplements
I did some vitamin shopping this weekend. I purchased the b-12 sublingual dots at walmart, they are Rexall Naturals brand. I opened them up tonight and they are very small. They look like they wont be too bad to take, the directions on them say to hold it under your tongue 30 sec before swallowing, so im assuming they disolve pretty quickly. The B vitamins I got from Hy-vee...I had the pharmacist help me with them, but after getting them home and looking at them, they are huge, and Im not so sure that I will be using them, I might go do some more shopping around on that one!! I also got the Caltrate 600 plus D chewables for calcium, that is what they recommend in the "bible" and it was the only chewable I could find. I looked at Multi-vitamins, I found a Cintrum (sp?) chewable, and of course the flinstones chewables, when compared apples to apples, they are almost the same but the flinstones have a few less mg of some vitamins in them...plus the cintrum has minerals too and Im not sure if we can use those...so I need to find out...anyone know?? I looked all over for Iron, and didnt have much luck, so I will still be on the search for that one!

Good luck!
