Carol, I will keep posting now. I hope that I can be an example of what seems too common among people who are several years out from surgery, regain. I am so grateful that I found what works for me and was able to get a handle on it before I regained too much.

Congratulations on your weight loss.  You did awesome since May if you lost more than 45 pounds.  Everyone I talk to says you have to stick to the program and follow what they say or you'll start gaining.  It sounds like you figured out what you were doing wrong and corrected it.  Way to go!!

Keep posting and share any tips you might have for the rest of us so we can be successful with our weight loss, okay?

Oh the heating pad is a good idea.  I don't have a big comfy recliner, but it's comfy.  I'm hoping I don't need a big one after surgery.  I laughed when you guys said "big comfy recliners".  It reminded me of the  "one size fit's all" clothes..............they never fit my "all".........so I was thinking that a "big comfy recliner" would probably not be big enough for me to sleep in.    I hope I I don' t need to sleep anywhere but in my bed.

I'm glad that you are healing and feeling better each day.  Pretty soon I'll be doing that too.  I'm excited and looking forward to Feb. 11th, but it seems so far away..................

Hope you all have a great weekend.

I had RNY in 01' and had regained about 45 lbs. I updated my profile because I finally started sticking to a lower carb WOE in May 08' and am currently lower than my lowest post surgery: 167. I tried uploading a current pic, but there are too many pixels.

I could not have made it post op without my heating pad- I even slept on it at night for my big incision because that was the most sore-

It will get better soon- but try the heating pad

Thank you all for your support.  I am feeling much better today.  Still a little sore but nothing like yesterday and nothing that I can't handle.  I think I might even go to the grocery store today just to get up and out.  I get to take a shower today which is going to be great.

I did gain back the 7 pounds I lost before surgery, but I have heard that that is normal.  I have been up walking around the house every chance I get.  It is hard to get in enough water.  I only managed 32 oz of water and the 20 oz of Isopure yesterday.  I'm going to be working on that more today.  I really don't mind sleeping in the recliner.  We have two very comfy recliners so it's all good.  I think the most difficult part of this so far is having my son ask me to carry him.  I feel awful saying no I can't, but I know that's what I have to do to heal.

Again thank you all for your support.  I will keep you updated on how I'm doing.  Good luck to all of you who are either waiting for approval or are almost to the surgery day.  The two weeks of pre-op dieting just flew by for me.  Hopefully it wil for you too!

Welcome to the loser's bench!!! I'm glad they found a problem with your band before they closed you up!  I remember the first couple nights I was home I slept in my bed propped up by a whole pile of pillows and also had them on both sides of me so I couldn't roll over! It'll get better each day, just remember to sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk!

Topic: RE: Ticker Check

Carol~

If you go to www.tickerfactory.com then click on Weight Loss Ticker you can go through and customize it.  Then when it shows you your "done" ticker you just right click on it and "copy" it (dont bother copying and pasting any codes, they dont work).  Then you can come to OH and go to your settings and "paste" it into your signature.  Let me know if you have any problems, it was pretty easy!  The hardest part was deciding which ticker to pick...they have a million to chose from, and you customize them yourself :)  LOTS OF FUN!!  Have a great weekend!!  I just Love Iowa winters....NOT!!!
