Unfortunately that seems to be the case with a lot of folks....one step forward, two back! I know it doesn't make it any easier to hear tho Just hang in there.....it can be a LONG and bumpy road.....but it is so worth it in the end!!!! Plead with your PCP to write a letter that you have been on a diabetic diet for three years. My surgeons office did all the paperwork and fighting for me, so I don't have much advice on that! Just wishing you the best!!!! I too don't understand why insurance companies want to keep us fat & unhealthy.....the long term cost of care is so much more for the obese! I agree with you there! Again, Take Care & wishing you the best JEsi
Hey Steve like Jesi, my surgeon's office did all the fighting and paperwork for me and mine was approved quickly, but you just need to hang in there. I've heard that a lot of people go through a lot just to get approved. Whatever you have to do, DON'T GIVE UP!! Since my surgery in January, my blood sugar and cholesterol are down to normal and my acid reflux is gone. I even quit snoring!! So although I can't give you any advice on what to do, you need to hang in there and FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!! It's so worth it when it's done. Good Luck

HI STeve...Boy does that sound familier!!! Almost the same happened to me....I had to fight tooth and nail to win my approval from my ins. and when I won my surgeon had quit and i had to find a new one and do a lil waiting for him...but I was glad I had to find a dif surgeon, the one I started with I had really lost my respect for by the time I won my case(it was partially their fault I had to fight so bad, they didnt help me at all and had origanally forgot to send in the right stuff then it had a typo that was against me and they had to change it but it kept coming up to haunt me!!)but I loved my new surgeon...still do they gave me my life back!!! So dont give up keep fighting it is sooooo worth it!!! I agree we shouldnt have to fight so hard for our very lifes but unfortunatly some of us have to.....If ya need to (talk) or just need a shoulder...email me I am a good listener ....Good Luck and keep in touch
