I have mine a week from tomorrow. What type of things did you have to do with the nurse. I have gained 10 lbs since the last time I was in. I wonder how much trouble I will be in. Will be praying for your sucessful surgery.

Susan I am not sure how mercy does it but they draw blood and blood pressure ekg and they did a breath test to make sure you havent smoked then we talked about the surgery and the risk of the surgery and then talk about what you are going to be doing once your home its not like I was thinking it was going to be it its more talking and listening then anything pretty easy stuff but I get nervous around new surrounding so it was a lil harder for me then most I am guessing and I too will have you in my prayers maybe we can keep in touch and meet after surgery

Will be watching for info on how your surgery goes and will keep you up to date on mine. I am still at the point that it is not real that it is going to happen. Maybe when I realize that I will start to get nervous. The nervous part I kind of leaving up to my kids and husband. Take care, I know that everything will go great for you.

Sheila, It's so normal to be nervous & scared. It's major surgery and a permanent change to your body & lifestyle. Don't be ashamed of feeling that way. Try to relax. You've made a good decision. I found that there were so many things to keep me busy to do those last days. I cooked alot. In the program I went through, we are still on clear liquids for another 2 weeks after surgery so I was really concerned about whether I could cook for my family & stay away from nibbling so I cooked & froze many meals. They were a godsend as it was so easy to just pop them into the oven & go back to my recliner. I think they got a bit tired of those kinds of meals but they didn't complain. The 27th is just around the corner. Congratulations & good luck. Dixie

Congrats! I'm sure the week will fly by - even if it feels like it takes forever now, in hindsight the whole process goes quickly! Amy
