Surgery Date Scheduled and Nearing!!!

Hello to all, I thought that I would fianlly post here instead of just lurking. So I have my date scheduled. Its April 24th. It was originally scheduled for may 1st but they wanted to move me up and there was no way that I was going to say no so...11am on April 24th at Mercy Capitol in DSM. For the most part, I have only heard of good things from this center. My sister works for a group of lawyers and one of them told her to watch around make sure that the nurses and staff wash their hands because she has had several cases with infection problems with Mercy Des Moines, she wasn't sure if it was Capitol location in particular but...has anyone had an infection after the surgery?? Im starting to get excited and making different lists everyday of things that I need to get done before, things I'll need with me at the hospital, and things I need to get before I come home. I think that Im starting to over think everything, trying to take my mind off waiting for my day to finally come!!! Im so psyched!

Hello Darcy, I went to Mercy Capitol and they are awesome Susan is so nice and very helpful. I lost 95 pounds so far my sugery date was Nov 15th 2005. Good luck your in great hands. If you have any questions email me. Angel

That is great, you will be in my prayers. I am scheduled for May 8th at Mercy Capitol, I wonder if they will be moving anyone else up. I am ready, though I wanted to lose a few pounds before surgery. God be with you!

I bet you are so excited !!!!!!! It will be time before you know it. I didn't get an infection but I know that it is possible with any surgery. I was worried that one of the tubes would get infected but they didn't. Hope to see you at the meeting on the 18th. Melissa 337/187/170
